What Happened: Omar Valerio confirmed via email a $20,000 out-the-door deal for a 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV LT When asked if this was cash or finance, Omar specifically wrote: "With that price you can either finance it or pay cash" Omar confirmed it was not a demo vehicle when specifically asked I visited the dealership the day before (7/17/2025) and they asked me to put down a deposit I told them I would open a GM Rewards Card first to get the additional $500 discount, then return I prepared a formal deposit agreement with all terms clearly outlined On 7/18/2025, I texted confirming I would stop by at 12 noon or after to complete the deposit Before leaving, I texted Alex who acknowledged I was coming While I was driving to the dealership, Alex texted: "Just a heads up, I do have someone here now who just walked in on the same vehicle" When I arrived, Omar claimed "2 other customers are before you" despite my confirmed appointment When I explained I had given advance notice and they flipped while I was driving, Omar said he'd speak to his manager The manager came out acting completely ignorant, as if he knew nothing about my confirmed deal or texts When I asked if Omar had told him I was coming and had confirmed everything, the manager was dismissive and refused to listen rationally I asked for a simple yes or no - would they honor their commitment to book the vehicle for me They refused to give a straight answer, so I said thank you and left The Real Problem: The "$20,000 OTD" deal was misleading from the start. Dennis at Green Brook Chevrolet and Bridgewater Chevrolet both confirmed this type of pricing structure is not realistic for true "cash or finance" deals, validating that Lucas was being deceptive with their offer. Unprofessional Behavior: Failed to honor written commitments made via email Refused to proceed with formal deposit agreement despite confirmed appointment Acknowledged my arrival time via text, then immediately undermined it Waited until I was driving to dealership to claim "someone else there for same vehicle" Last-minute bait-and-switch tactics while customer was en route Made false excuses about other customers having priority Manager pretended to be unaware of confirmed arrangements Refused to give a straight yes/no answer about honoring their commitment Dismissive and unwilling to listen to reasonable explanations Complete lack of accountability or professionalism Wasted customer's time after explicit confirmations Contacts Involved: Omar Valerio (Sales) - ovalerio@richardlucascars.com Alex (Sales) Brian (Manager) Documentation: I have the complete email thread from July 14, 2025, where Omar explicitly stated "The OTD price is $20,000.00" and confirmed "With that price you can either finance it or pay cash." This written evidence proves their commitment to the deal they later refused to honor. Recommendation: Avoid this dealership. Their word means nothing, and they will waste your time with misleading quotes and unprofessional behavior. My experience at Richard Lucas Chevrolet was outstanding compared to others dealerships I have been to. As soon as arrived, they had a wide selection of car to view. Andres is a very friendly and attendant compared to others dealerships I have been to. As soon as arrived, they had a wide selection of car to view. Andres is a very friendly and attendant sales representative that made sure I was looking for the perfect car for myself. He took the time and explain to me the difference between 2026 Blazer and Equinox. At no point did I did I felt like i was forced to buy a car at the moment even when he knew i was carless. I am very happy that I was able to get my 2026 Chevy Equinox RS that’s i wanted. Vinny was very helpful when it came down to explaining to me about the services and feature my new car came with. 100% satisfied with their customer service!!! More
