I had a highly unsatisfactory experience with the service department at Lehigh Valley Honda. My 2022 Odyssey had an issue with paint peeling on the bumper, which should have been covered under the 3/36K mile department at Lehigh Valley Honda. My 2022 Odyssey had an issue with paint peeling on the bumper, which should have been covered under the 3/36K mile OEM warranty. Here’s a detailed account of the ordeal: In February 2024, I visited the service department, and they took pictures of the peeling paint, promising to submit them for warranty approval to Honda. I was informed that the process might take some time. After hearing nothing for months, I followed up in July 2024. The service advisor initially tried to claim that the issue wasn’t covered because I didn’t purchase an additional paint warranty. When I pointed out this was incorrect, I was transferred to the service manager, Bronson. Bronson revealed that no action had been taken with the initial pictures and falsely informed me that I needed to call Honda corporate to get authorization for the warranty work. His attitude was dismissive and unhelpful, repeatedly stating, “I just follow procedures.” This is hardly the approach expected from someone in a managerial position tasked with solving problems and advocating for customers. Upon contacting Honda corporate, I confirmed that the dealership should have initiated the warranty repair process. Honda corporate even has a special department for handling such claims. They assured me they would clarify this with the dealership. While the frontline staff are friendly and helpful, the management at Lehigh Valley Honda’s service department falls short of representing the Honda brand effectively. Comparing this to my experience with Tesla’s warranty service, it’s clear why some car manufacturers fare better without intermediaries like Vinart/LV Honda. Did not listen to the concern with our car. Refused to drive the car to understand what is wrong. Told us they did not have time for the maintenance they suggested and we requested.
