Low-Key Process I purchased my last two Subarus via the internet, not at a car dealership. Therefore, I had some trepidation as I explored Costco's car buying program I purchased my last two Subarus via the internet, not at a car dealership. Therefore, I had some trepidation as I explored Costco's car buying program, knowing that it meant going to a dealership. When I went online to obtain more information, an automatic notification went to Tucson Subaru, and my phone rang within a minute of hitting the "send" button. Frankly, it startled me, because I wasn't sure I wanted to pull the trigger at that exact moment. The salesman was CJ Nichols, and he was very low-key in his approach. The financing incentive of 1.9% interest through the end of the month nudged me off the fence, and I decided to visit CJ the following Saturday. I'm really glad I did. I was torn between two trim levels, one significantly more expensive than the other. CJ did not push me towards the most expensive trim. He explained that the Costco program meant that I could purchase either Outback for $600 over invoice, quite a bit lower than MSRP. That was it - no haggling over the price. I had researched dealer invoice on the kbb site, and knew that this was a very reasonable price. After test driving three cars, I decided to put money down on one of the Outbacks. It was not on the lot but expected by Monday. To be safe, we arranged for delivery on Tuesday. The car arrived as scheduled, and was ready when I reached the lot on Tuesday. CJ spent considerable time with me on Saturday and Tuesday explaining the many features of the new car. He was knowledgeable and patient. Of course, nothing is finished until the paperwork is signed. The next step was my visit to the Finance Manager. I thought, "Aha, this is it; this is where it becomes challenging. I just need to steel myself for what happens next." Was I ever wrong! The Finance Manager, Curt McHenry, was simply presenting options, and did not react when I declined most of them. There was zero pressure to up-sell. The price remained as quoted on Saturday with no surprises. I realized, when all was said and done, that the entire process, from beginning to end, was actually fun! I had been dreading it (as evidenced by the fact that my Forester was 12 years old). I still hear stories about other dealerships and the pressure they exert on customers, but I can attest to the fact that Tucson Subaru is not like that. Everyone with whom I worked was professional, knowledgeable, and pleasant. The car is a Consumer Reports recommend, and a NHTSA-rated safe vehicle. Moreover, it is beautiful and handles beautifully. I would heartily recommend this dealership to anyone who wants a good value on a safe vehicle. More

Fantastic service- stress free- quick answers and results. I had a great experience with this dealership. I found my dream car online and was able to have it held for me (I live a ways away from the dealership I had a great experience with this dealership. I had little experience in the 'car world' and they helped me work through the in's and out's of various cars. I now have a new, base model 2015 Outback. Love it! Professional, Honest - Great Experience I have purchased 5 cars in the past and this is by far the best experience I have ever had. I had done extensive research prior to meeting with CJ. I knew I wanted the base model outback and knew what the range on pricing should be. The price was better than expected and I got exactly what I wanted. I did not feel pressure to upgrade from the base model. CJ was very professional and respectful throughout the interaction. Even after we purchased the outback with all paper work complete, he took about 30-45 minutes to really make sure I understood the features of the car, positive aspects of the outback, introduced me to the service department, etc. That was after I felt he had already done an excellent job providing me with information before the purchase. I think many salesman would have been satisfied with making a sale and then been in a hurry to move on to the next sale. That is not at all the experience I had with CJ. I love subaru and I can tell you with confidence when I need another car or if a friend does, CJ at Tucson Subaru will be the first stop. More

The dealer I worked with was very helpful when I test drove the car and through the purchasing process. This dealership worked with me to help me drive gain. I am disabled and unable to use my right leg. The staff worked with me to find a vehicle that fitted my needs. A Rare Gem in the Dark World of Car Dealers I'm in my 60's. I've purchased more than a dozen cars. Most of those purchases have been from dealerships. I could count the number of those experienc I'm in my 60's. I've purchased more than a dozen cars. Most of those purchases have been from dealerships. I could count the number of those experiences that could be characterized as "not unpleasant" on one hand that was missing most of its fingers. One of those was at a dealer that was owned by a friend of mine. The other was my recent purchase of a 2015 Subaru Forester XT from Tucson Subaru. The vast majority of car dealers leave their customers feeling like they've been beaten up by the car buying experience. This was how I felt after dealing with a Tucson Mazda dealer a few days before purchasing my Subaru. The other dealer's staff projected an image of wanting to squeeze as much money out of me as they possibly could. They offered me far less than a fair price for my trade-in. Even though I had used the Costco Buyers Program (highly recommended) to obtain assured pricing, the Mazda store kept trying to add additional costs. The methods they used in providing the prices they offered me were far from transparent. The sales people I dealt with knew far less about the car I was interested in than I did. The experience at Tucson Subaru was the exact opposite. CJ Nichols, Tim Hanson, and everyone else I encountered seemed genuinely interested in making sure I was happy with the deal they were offering and the buying experience at their store. CJ Nichols offered comprehensive knowledge of the car I was interested in. I'm a "car guy" so I did my homework and I thought I knew a lot about the Forester XT. CJ knew much more, and he was always ready to demonstrate his knowledge. When the deal was done and the car was being delivered, he even helped program some of the Forester's hands-free features so I could use them right away. As we were leaving he presented my wife with a dozen beautiful red roses. Nice touch! I will have no hesitation about strongly recommending Tucson Subaru to anyone I know who is looking for a vehicle. They are truly a class act in a business where most dealerships can be rated by what I call their Slimeball Factor. More
