This is a huge Hyundai dealership with lots of inventory to help you find the model/trim/colors you want. Overall it’s great. But beware that like many dealerships they use the two salesmen method to get yo to help you find the model/trim/colors you want. Overall it’s great. But beware that like many dealerships they use the two salesmen method to get you to pay them a lot of extra money for worthless stuff - a friendly “front salesman” whose main job is to help you find the perfect vehicle for you then a “back salesman” (also known as the finance guy) whose sole purpose is to get you to pay as much extra money as possible using smooth talking and tried & true sales tactics. I knew most dealerships follow this model and I still got suckered in a bit. This is one of the larger Hyundai dealerships in the LA area and has a huge selection of cars. I wanted a specific model/trim (Ioniq 5 Limited) in specific interior/exterior colors. I saw that Puente Hills Hyundai had one listed on their website so I called to verify it was on the lot and we drove up to test drive it. Our “front salesman” was Cesar Rocha and he was great! He confirmed on the phone that the car was on the lot and available and said he’d have it ready for us to look at and test drive. True to his word, when we arrived the car was parked in the front and ready to go. Cesar was very friendly, very helpful, and one of the more knowledgeable salesmen I’ve encountered at dealerships. He was completely relaxed and no pressure on me to buy the car. He was there to help me in any way he could. If you’re coming to look at cars at this dealership I would definitely recommend requesting Cesar Rocha to assist you. I did decide that I wanted to buy the car. This is the point where the “front salesman” passes you to the “back salesman” to handle the financial aspect and here’s where the typical dealership sales tactics kick in. After running my credit he brought out a sheet with the pricing that included over $10,000 of extras I never asked for or wanted. He tried to “hide” this by throwing it out in a long list of charges very nonchalantly and then focusing quickly on what my monthly payments would be rather than the total cost. This is a very common sales tactic. But there was no way I was falling for that so I immediately called it out and said I wasn’t interested in paying for any of that stuff which I neither needed nor wanted. To make a long story short, in the end he still convinced me to pay $2000 extra for $50 worth of pointless accessories. Had I been in a better mindset I wouldn’t have fallen for that, but these guys know you’re making a big purchase - you’re likely to be excited and anxious and nervous and not thinking 100% clearly and they are really good at taking advantage of that. In my case he made it look like I was paying $500 for these worthless accessories but really he was taking the $1500 Manufacturer’s rebate away from me, keeping it for the dealership and then charging me an additional $500 for 3 worthless accessories meaning I lost $2k on the deal. Don't pay for Nitrogen Filled Tires (worthless), Security Labels (also worthless), or Door Guards (mostly worthless). At max these are worth $50, not $2000. It’s a bummer that the dealership couldn’t just be satisfied with the huge profit they got from selling me a top-of-the-line expensive car without working hard to squeeze an additional $2k of my hard earned savings out of me. I wish I hadn’t fallen prey to those tactics as so many do. I would have felt SO much better about my deal and my experience the next day and week if they had just sold me the car and not bamboozled me into spending $2000 extra on stuff no one needs. All that being said, as dealerships go, Puente Hills definitely has a nice dealership with lots of inventory, plenty of open parking, a nice showroom, and very helpful front sales people. It’s really up to you to go in prepared and not fall for the sleazy sales tactics and overpay for your car like I did. Aside from that I’d certainly recommend this Hyundai dealership as much as any other. More

On 10/4/2022, I came to the Puente Hills Hyundai for an oil change. I was unable to pick up my car before the service center closed due to an emergency. I called the sales department and spoke to salesman oil change. I was unable to pick up my car before the service center closed due to an emergency. I called the sales department and spoke to salesman Cesar and explained my situation. He informed me that the service and sales departments are two separate entities and there was nothing he could do. I asked to talk to his manager, Jessy. Cesar said what would be the point as his manager doesn’t have access to the service department. I insisted and Cesar said I would probably be on hold for more than 20 minutes because his manager was with other customers and I should just come to pick up my car when the service center is open. His responses were not helpful. It is evident that this dealership needs better customer care training. And a better policy needs to be in place so customers who can’t pick up their car before the service center closes may do so before dealership closes. More
