Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, I grew up in a hard-working, middle-class family where sports were a way of life—baseball, football, and wrestling kept me busy, and my loyalty to the Pittsburgh Steelers has never wavered. I moved to California over 35 years ago, where I discovered a lasting love for hiking and the outdoors. My wife, Denise, and I have been together for more than 40 years, raising two wonderful sons and now enjoying the joy of three amazing grandchildren.
