We have previously leased three Subarus from Gateway. In August, 2018 we moved from Maryland to Virginia. By necessity we dealt with another dealer to service our leased Forester. While the service visits were OK, they were not as pleasant as they were at Gateway. With our lease expiring, we contacted this same dealer about leasing versus buying options. We were not impressed with their less-than eager responses. We ultimately decided in June, 2020 to buy a new Forester approached the dealer, and again were not impressed by their response. So, even though Gateway was located in Maryland, not Virginia and was an unpleasant three hour drive away, we contacted them by phone and concluded an agreement to buy the Forester from them. Obviously we have found the folks at Gateway to be flexible, responsive, and easy to communicate with. My opinion of auto dealers is not generally high. Gateway is an exceptional dealership. Kudos to Mssrs Scullen, Kostecki, and Nagler. It was worth the drive. More

In the past six months we’ve traded in our Forester and Legacy to update to the 2020 models. My husband worked with Don Scullen and more recently, during the pandemic, I worked with Kevin Miller. I initially expressed my interest via Gateway’s website and Kevin followed through. The process was simple and painless. I knew exactly what I wanted, and even though Gateway didn’t have that car on their lot, they were able to get it from one of their sister dealerships the next day. It was a pleasure dealing with the sales staff at Gateway, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend! More

The best salesperson I've ever works with! I worked with Don back and forth for over a week online. He was fast to respond and I never felt as if I was getting "BS" from him. All the info he se I worked with Don back and forth for over a week online. He was fast to respond and I never felt as if I was getting "BS" from him. All the info he sent proved factual and on the money. When my wife and I finally went for a test drive, the Ascent we ended up buying that day, was parked out front and ready to drive. Don went over more than just the basics with us then gave us the keys and let us go on our own. After the test drive which went well (we bought the Ascent) he than welcomed us back and excused himself for ten minutes after showing where the refreshments were (he was with another customer.) There were no delays after he completed what had to do with the other customer. No run around or "BS" like with any other salesmen or dealership I have ever bought a car from in the past. All the paperwork went fast and easy with Zach who also knew all about the Ascent and was easy to work with. I can't say enough about Don and the dealership. I feel our future with this Ascent will go well as I will be taking it back for scheduled maintenance for many years. More
