First off, our salesman Herman, while being new, was good to work with. Secondly, they had the vehicle we wanted and also a decent price on it. Where the issue starts is worth the finance department/manager. We finance through a local bank in South Dakota as I own a business and handle all financial aspects there. Never in my life have I bought a vehicle from a dealership that seemed to have such difficulty working with an outside bank. It came across as peer stubbornness, arrogance, and the inability to work with others. First, they argued on how to handle the payoff of our trade in. Which resulted in demanding we do it the walser way and walser sends a check to our bank to pay it off. Here we are, 15 days later and I received a call today from my notifying me that my trade in has yet to be paid off. Secondly, on the finance documents they misspelled my banks name; Northstar instead of Norstar. Easy enough mistake to make. But I corrected them the day of purchase, when the bank called to notify me, in person, at the dealership and I was assured it would be fixed by the finance manager. Turns out, my bank has not receive the payoff yet because the check was returned due to misspelling of their name on both the check and addressing the envelope “North Star instead of Norstar”. So at this point I feel I wasn’t listened to at all and the assurances that it would be fixed meant nothing. Wanted me to write the check and get out of the door. Next, we were overcharged on our out of state taxes which was actually discovered by my loan officer and not the dealership itself. I was told they would have to mail me a check for the overpayment. 15 days later I have also yet to receive that check. The salesman Herman was great, learning on the job but I don’t have any problem with that. The vehicle is great, the price was fair. But I’ve probably purchased 20 vehicles over my lifetime and never in my life have I seen such, lack of organization , arrogance, and difficulty when it comes to paying for a vehicle using the bank I’ve used my whole life since I was a child. Every other dealer I’ve worked with in the past has never shown such, and it was to the point that my loan officer felt aggravated and disrespected. More
