Debbie, your transaction of your 2009 Highlander yesterday was not a misrepresentation of information by Ed Martin Toyota. As we spoke about for 45 minutes today on the phone, your concerns of high APR; this was the only approval we had for financing. As you know, this was also the credit union you requested to use. Contrary to your accusation, we cannot/did not mark up the rate on this loan contract in any way. Also, the $195 bank fee is the fee from the credit union-- not Ed Martin Toyota and the fee did not add any profit margin to the deal. We spoke about your concerns of non-safety-related items as well. It is very hard to find a perfect 213,000-mile vehicle from my experience. With that said, it costs 1/5th the price of a new vehicle, and thus it can (and likely will) have some sort of issues sooner or later. Reviewing the deal thoroughly, it appears you knew (by signing multiple AS-IS agreements) that the vehicle was sold AS-IS. The concerns you mentioned are in no way safety-related let alone large ticket items anyway. The only issue that I felt was valid was the issue of GAP insurance that you felt was forced upon you by Brock. I did apologize for that and offered to flat cancel it, but you did not take me up on that request. I was fully transparent with you that we made a small profit ($400) on the GAP contract, but please don’t misinterpret that as greed. We have payroll, taxes, rent, and utilities like any other company, and earning a profit is not something we feel guilty about. Eric Sarjeant General Manager Ed Martin Toyota Cell: 317-385-9572
