Hello Ms. Gablein, Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate you taking the time to share it with us. Our inspection mechanics follows the Pennsylvania state inspection guidelines very closely to ensure every vehicle meets the required safety standards. In this case, the inspection mechanic found excessive play at the wheel and measured it with a dial indicator to find it exceeded the .25" tolerance acceptable by Pennsylvania state. He identified this play was in the steering rack and therefore estimated replacing that component. We understand it can be frustrating to receive unexpected repair estimates, and we always strive to be as transparent and thorough as possible in our assessments as you saw during the video inspection that was sent to you. If you have any questions or would like to review the inspection findings with us, we’d be happy to go over them in more detail. I'm happy to offer to reinspect the vehicle with the work that was completed by another inspection mechanic and if I find that we were incorrect in our assessment, I'll refund your inspection fee you paid to our dealership. Hello Mr. Gaziz, Thank you for your recent visit to our service department. I’m sorry to hear that you are still experiencing intermittent extended cranking with your Golf TDI. As you may recall, we last corresponded in October 2024, after our technician was unable to duplicate the concern and no diagnostic fault codes were present in the engine control module. Please understand that without confirmed symptoms or supporting diagnostic data, we are unable to proceed with troubleshooting, and Volkswagen will not authorize warranty repairs in such cases. The only time we were able to verify this issue was in 2022, when we diagnosed low fuel pressure from the in-tank fuel pump, which was subsequently replaced under warranty at no cost to you. In our October communication, I recommended leaving the vehicle with us for an extended period so we could monitor whether fuel pressure was bleeding off over time. I also sent a list of follow-up questions needed to continue the diagnostic process. However, we did not receive a response, and the matter was not pursued further. Additionally, during your visits in December, February, and March for other service and collision-related work, there was no mention of this concern or request to resume diagnostics.
