Although I was from out-of-town Mr. Dean and the Orr Chevrolet team treated me as though I was a longtime customer. This is not the first serious issue I’ve had with Orr Chevrolet in Fort Smith. Several years ago, I brought my truck in for service while it was under warranty, including a transmission fluid service. As part of that service, the dealership test-drove my vehicle. During that test drive, my truck was involved in a major accident while in their care, resulting in approximately $20,000 in damages (see photos). That incident was documented and handled through the proper channels at the time, but it was extremely stressful and something I never expected when my vehicle was with professionals. This week, after a routine oil change and service at Orr Chevrolet, my check engine light came on shortly after leaving. I stopped at O’Reilly Auto Parts, where they ran a FREE diagnostic scan. They were helpful, respectful, and transparent. The scan showed a common EVAP emissions issue. I returned to Orr Chevrolet to ask about it. I was told the repair would cost $2,700. When I said I wanted a second opinion, I was charged $189 for another diagnostic. I then had my truck towed to Van Buren Auto Care, where the issue was diagnosed and repaired the same day for $389 total. I’m sharing this for one reason only: Transparency matters. I want to acknowledge the businesses that did right by me: • O’Reilly Auto Parts for a free, honest diagnostic • Van Buren Auto Care for fair pricing, clear communication, and fast repair And I want people to know my experiences so they can decide for themselves where to go. Second opinions matter. Listening to your gut matters. And honest service still exists just not at Orr Chevrolet Service Department. More
