Toyota dose a good job but could be more economical. Labor is high. Could use better trianing with customer service when it comes to service and repair and sales. Ive had more then one indecent with poor treatment. Makes me think twice about buying another car from this dealership. Hopefully next time im in for service I dont get rude or condescending answers to my concerns! For instance, my question was my breaks squeak when backing up and not just a small squeak but a very load squeak, whats that all about? Can you check it for me? Answer: We can check that out but thats very common and it happens alot with these cars. Looks at me like im stupid/crazy for worring or asking about it! Thats just one of a few times ive had a smart answer that wasent very comforting and definitely dident make me want to buy another car!! Ian im sure has been there a while and should no better then to say that as well as act like your stupid for asking such a questions. Ive had a ton of cars in my day and unless the breaks were bad, which mine wernt, they never squeaked loudly while backing up. Hopefully Ian could be informative and well as less condescending for the next customer. Ill be back but about another time that happens Im sure I wont be back! By the way Jeff the driver of the shuttle van was awesome and is a good guy! Wish you had more customers service like his. He deserves a raise!! More

We have been loyal customers of this dealership for nearly 30 years. Yesterday we took our Toyota in and while I was checking out, I noticed several of the service assistants are ones that I worked wit nearly 30 years. Yesterday we took our Toyota in and while I was checking out, I noticed several of the service assistants are ones that I worked with almost 30 years ago! To me, that speaks volumes about this dealership. Those guys were quality employees then, and the new one we dealt with yesterday seems to be of equal quality. More

What should have been a reasonable cost to replace the front struts on my Highlander, the price quickly ballooned to $1,600 before taxes! The service agent did not seem to want to help with alternatives, front struts on my Highlander, the price quickly ballooned to $1,600 before taxes! The service agent did not seem to want to help with alternatives, saying it is what it is. Toyota parts were too expensive, so I went with Monroe struts with a lifetime warranty. The model of those struts are around $200 each, Toyota of DM charged me $416 each!!! That did not include labor… a hefty $770. Basically, the markup was double in cost. With 115K miles on my Highlander, this visit to Toyota of DM is the last. I will be going to a non-dealer auto service from now on, and I will drive up to Toyota in Ames for my next purchase. More
