I have always trusted Daytona Toyota for both sales and service. The free lifetime oil changes and lifetime warranty are excellent incentives. **Covid alert on used vehicles**** they did not change inside air filter in car that I was driving, the staff had masks on and doors opened and dealership would be closed 1 or 2 times a week for "cleanin inside air filter in car that I was driving, the staff had masks on and doors opened and dealership would be closed 1 or 2 times a week for "cleaning" but didnt care about having the air clean and safe for customers to breathe inside used cars. They did not replace rear brakes that were 3mm, which all toyota dealerships say to replace at 0-3mm. I called when I was at another Toyota dealership having a thorough used car inspection, and spoke with Mike Richards, the sales director, with the findings and he said that the brakes were 3mm and didnt need to be replaced, that the other dealership just wanted to make money, and that they weren't putting any more money into my 2014 FJ cruiser. This is another safety issue that was not done. They did replace indoor air filter i asked to look at it, then the service tech took it out and it was caked with dirt and had a layer of leaves on it, he dumped the leaves and then started beating it on the garbage can like he was going to put it back in the truck and I told him not , that it needed a new, clean filter. This is a safety issue. They did not replace wipers or engine filter which was dirty. The cabin filter they put in was not a Toyota filter, it was aftermarket. The truck was not waxed or outside cleaned before delivery, still had dark grey streaks running down truck. They somehow they lost the floor mats, and couldn't find them. It and took them 4 days to drive it to my house that was 2.5 hours away, and they were closed the day after I bought the car, so still took 3 days to drive 2.5 hours away, after chuck said it would be delivered the day I bought it. They told me when I was there that work had already been done , oil change, and they had to replace front brakes, rotors and calipers, but when I kept calling to find out when the truck would be delivered, they would say it's in service, it's not finished yet. Interestingly, another sales person texted me to see if I wanted to test drive the 2014 FJ cruiser, I texted him back and said that I already bought that truck 2 days ago. What the heck?? I thought their finance dept was advanced for that dealership. It was nice to get a tag and sticker right then and not have to wait, and not have to use a temp tag, even thought they didnt have the title and I was later sent another sticker after they got the title. I still got charged a fee that I was told I wouldn't get charged for, and a $300 discount through my work was not added. So much for being in a rush to go back to work and not really paying enough attention to every detail. I've had a lot of work done to it, new serpentine belt, radiator flush, power steering fluid was low, no record of a flush, so that was done, rear brakes and resurface rotors since at 3mm, new engine air filter, a new Toyota cabin filter. I had to buy Toyota cleaner wax and wax the truck to get dark streaks off, and wipe down inside of truck to get dirt and a yellow/orange residue off, and bought FJ floor mats. I'm glad they listened and didnt spray any chemicals inside truck but heck. I had to totally clean the inside and outside of my used truck. It's not like I bought it from someone shady used car shop in town, I bought it at a Toyota dealership and I expect better quality and service, and toyota parts from any Toyota branded dealership. It was odd that the car fax never showed Daytona Toyota as having possession of the vehicle or that they did any work on it., or that it was sold, and didn't show a 3rd owner when I bought it. All the work I had done, is still showing up on the 2nd owner. After all that. I do love my truck, and glad that I finally have a 2014 FJ Cruiser, and it's coming back to the Tampa area where the truck was bought the first 2 times. The only 5 star I would give is to the finance guy, Rodney Rodriguez.. More
