Knowing the deal I needed to make things work for me I reached out to a neighborhood dealership which I have passed by for the eight years I’ve lived in Somerville: the Colonial VW of Medford. Internet Sales Manager Jason Giacoppo promptly responded back via email. Dan Goodman spoke with me on the phone to arrange a meeting, thus began the very smooth process. At the dealership, Jason introduced me to Sales & Leasing Consultant Paul Lazzaro. Paul was very approachable, friendly and his energy, knowledge and experience in auto sales was of the highest level. His willingness to understand my situation while giving me the opportunity to be as comfortable as possible was reassuring and complimented by his professionalism. The test drive went so well I literally nearly smiled the entire time. The follow up process was painless and I definitely feel as though I got a good deal. In addition, Finance Manager Stephanie Trevisone walked me through the paper work with great care and offered further benefits to be included with my deal. She further enhanced my joyful moment with added professionalism, attention to detail and shared in the enjoyment of my first car lease. I must say with sincere gratitude that everyone form management to environmental services were super helpful, positive and set the atmosphere perfectly for positive productive exchange. Overall, Good First of all, let me say that Daniel and Josh were a pleasure to deal with. I pretty much knew what I wanted with my new GTI, so it was a matter of fi First of all, let me say that Daniel and Josh were a pleasure to deal with. I pretty much knew what I wanted with my new GTI, so it was a matter of finding the car and pricing it out. They were prompt to address any concerns or questions, and made the process as pleasant as possible...Which is great, because after dealing with the finance guy for 5 minutes, I walked out of his office livid. It wasn't about securing financing or anything like that...it was his insistence that I buy the additional protection plans (that I'm sure he gets a cut of), and when I pointed out the fine print on one of the plans said something like 'dealer aftermarket parts', so in order for it to cover aftermarket items, they would have to be purchased at a dealer. To which his response was "you don't know what you're talking about. It's any aftermarket parts." So I simply said 'Well, I'm not saying that you're being dishonest, but what it says on that paper I would sign means a lot more than your word as far as the law is concerned.' He was the rudest and most unpleasant person from that moment on. No eye contact, frustrated hand gestures...don't think he said anything other than 'sign this'. I work in the service industry and I don't always get my way with clients. That doesn't mean that I become a complete xxx instantly. Other than finance, I really can't say enough good things about this dealer. This is my 3rd car from them, and everywhere from sales to service, the staff are awesome. Just put on your game face when you walk into finance. More

The silver lining after an accident In October my car was totalled by someone looking for a parking space. Caduste Michaud greeted my visibly agitated son, listened to his requests, and exceeded our expectations. This car buying experience was the best one I have ever had. I am grateful to the entire staff at Colonial Volkswagen of Medford. Their truly excellent team effort made my list of things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. More
