They did a good job overall, but I was very disappointed that the base price of the vehicle we were negotiating was a full $1,100 over the advertised price online. I pointed this out several time, and the excuse was, "Sometimes the online pricing doesn't get updated when we change our actual price." I feel like this was very deceptive. It was like pulling teeth, but I finally got them to discount the overall price by $1,500, which covered the price discrepancy, plus a few hundred dollars off the exorbitant $1,295 'Dealer Prep Fee' (which they didn't even want to discuss, and which I call the "Pure Profit Plan.") I drove two hours to buy this truck, and I needed a vehicle right away, because I was stuck in a rental car. They knew this. So I bought it, even though I paid more than I wanted to pay.. Overall I would recommend AutoMax, because I still think I got a decent deal. But be prepared to do what I couldn't do - walk away. More
