Though this dealer is 30 miles away from my home and I purchased my Toyota at a different dealer, I had an issue with my vehicle that left it disabled on the highway and Toyota of Wallingford was the clos purchased my Toyota at a different dealer, I had an issue with my vehicle that left it disabled on the highway and Toyota of Wallingford was the closest Toyota dealer. I had it towed there late on a Saturday afternoon, and though it was past their service hours, the showroom staff were more than happy to assist. They provided me a Early Bird service envelope that I filled out with a description of what happened and left it with the dealer. I got a call early Monday morning from Katey and she explained the two recall items on the car and the diagnostic charge (which would we applied to any repair work done) and told me she would let me know. She called later that day to tell me the part for one of the recall items would be in tomorrow, and since the vehicle was inoperable there was little they could do until that was replaced. About 1pm on Tuesday I had not yet heard from them so I was at their website and initiated a "live chat" asking what the status of the vehicle was. The rep I spoke to relayed my question and contact info to the service manager, Karen, who emailed me promptly and explained the parts delivery only came in at noon. She let me know they were going to complete the recall work and Katey would call and let me know the status after that. Not too long later, Katey called to let me know that the recall work had been completed and the car was now working fine. I went down after work to pick it up and since it was a recall related repair, no charge at all. Great customer service all around from the sales to service staff and even the internet agent(s), a rare commodity, especially among 'big box' car dealerships. Though I am 30 miles away I would definitely consider doing business with them again, highly recommended. A++ More

Toyota of Wallingford gave me a free tire promotion when I purchased my vehicle. I got 4 new tires and immediately started having problems with the car pulling to the left and vibrating at highway speeds. A I purchased my vehicle. Alignment done and re-done, tires balanced and re-balanced, and they could not figure out what was wrong. 3 years later, still having the problems mentioned, I asked that they inspect my tires because they were skidding on wet pavement. They said my tires were fine (based on tread depth) and would not replace them, and recommended rotating the higher tread tires to the front. I went to another tire center where they identified that one front AND one back tire had broken belts. The tires were also wearing unevenly and losing air. The care was unsafe to drive. I got new tires and made a strong case to Toyota to reimburse me, since by our contract, they were supposed to provide free tires and they had failed in their inspection of my tires just 2 days earlier. I question the skill of their technicians, as they were unable to diagnose the initial problem (which they also caused). Toyota did agree to pay for the tires, but at no point offered an apology admitted any fault. Honestly, the apology was more important to me than the check. Prior to the tire incident...On my other vehicle, a 2005 Prius, Toyota reported that my brakes were 85% worn and needed immediate replacement. My husband decided to do the job himself and measured very accurately with a caliper and found that the old brakes still had well over half thickness remaining. He brought the brake pads with him to Toyota, and even in the face of mathematical logic, Toyota did not admit to having made a mistake. I believe they were very dishonestly trying to recommend work on the car that was not needed. I originally gave a generous 2 rating for friendliness and customer service, but after my last correspondence with Karen had to switch it (other employees have been very nice). She questioned and argued with me on every point, totally ignoring the facts of the situation. In the end, when backed into a corner and threatened with a letter to the BBB, Toyota did agree to do the right thing. However, if you want quality and honesty, do yourself a favor and service your car elsewhere. More

When I first walked onto the lot at Toyota of Wallingford I of course received great customer service, I was buying a brand new car. Well from my very first oil change with the service department I had major I of course received great customer service, I was buying a brand new car. Well from my very first oil change with the service department I had major issues. The staff is rude, nasty and snotty to say the least. They treated me like crap every time I called or came in. One time I decided to get a car wash and when I picked up my car my front license plate was bent in half and the front bumper was scratched and dented. I noticed this right away and informed the service staff. To my surprise they did nothing about it, the women said "oh well you can purchase some touch up paint". They can damage my car and not be held responsible for it. I called and called about this and Diane called me back maybe once with some bs excuse. I waited for a call from the owner and of course never received one. I called again and they said "this matter has been closed". I was pissed! I will never buy a car from them again and will tell everyone I know not to do business with them. Please if you are thinking of doing business with Toyota of Wallingford, DON'T!! More

I recently brought my SUV in for service and incountered a small issue..this was compounded by a miscommunication.....I became very angry at first and wrote on line how upset i was....I was really expecting a small issue..this was compounded by a miscommunication.....I became very angry at first and wrote on line how upset i was....I was really expecting not to get the unbelievable caring response that I did get. My experience working with other car dealerships and service companies in the past was always so stressful, dreadful and was always left unsatisfied. My experience with Wallingford Toyota has been one of a kind. Every detail of my issue was dealt with and corrected quickly and with great kindness. Karen the Service Manager could not have been more kind and professional and apologetic. This is a dealership where the customer satisfaction is important to them. You very rarely come across this kind of service and i highly recommend Wallingford Toyota. More

I purchased my 2009 Scion XD from Toyota of Wallingford back in 2008 and since then have always had them for all service/check ups. I have to drive up there from Stamford every time but am willingly doing back in 2008 and since then have always had them for all service/check ups. I have to drive up there from Stamford every time but am willingly doing so instead of taking any risk trying unknown others. They are extremely friendly as well as professional and absolutely worth spending my 2 hours for a round trip. For example, in my most recent experience with them, there was an accident on the way and I had to miss my original appointment and called them to reschedule, but Karen squeezed me in the afternoon on same day. I was lucky there was a room for the day but it was impossible if Karen had not actively helped me. After service was done, Jon explained very nicely and kindly what was done and what else needed for next steps. This is just one example - I have always had a great experience with them and trust whatever they do. Every single person in the service center truly is the best in class. Last but not least, this is my first review on any dealers and I even registered for this site only to upload my review for Toyota of Wallingford. More

Karen brought me in the same day I called, brought me into the service area and had a mechanic show me each break. The job was done without any charge to me, She gave me an almost new car to use until my car was fixed, free of charge. Everyone was so friendly and polite and knowledgeable that my bad experience became a good experience with Toyota of Wallingford. Now I know why they are #1 in Connecticut. More

I need to post an update to my previous comments abount that dealership, as we've been through a couple humps and bumps with service department. Fortunately, thanks to beautiful work of Karen we had everyt that dealership, as we've been through a couple humps and bumps with service department.
