After my lease ended, I completed a buyout through my credit union (not through the dealership). During that process, I was provided with multiple versions of Bills of Sale that contained inconsistent fi credit union (not through the dealership). During that process, I was provided with multiple versions of Bills of Sale that contained inconsistent figures, including changes to the vehicle purchase price compared to earlier documentation. I requested corrected documentation to reflect consistent and accurate figures. Instead, I was told a refund check would be issued, without receiving revised paperwork that addressed the discrepancies. Because of the documentation issues, I filed complaints with the New York State Attorney General's Office, the New York DMV Dealer Compliance Unit, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Based on my experience, I strongly recommend that customers carefully review all paperwork, including any add-on items, request written explanations for any discrepancies, and ensure that any corrections are made directly on official documents rather than handled through refunds alone -even when a business has strong overall ratings. More
