I took my car to Firestone to diagnose the suspension noises, because my GMPP was expiring on June 6, 2013. They reported back that the front suspension noise was due to bad struts and recommended repla noises, because my GMPP was expiring on June 6, 2013. They reported back that the front suspension noise was due to bad struts and recommended replacing the strut, strut mounts and sway bar links. They reported that the rear noise was due to a bad/leaking driver side rear shock and recommended replacing both rear shocks, as they need to be replaced in pairs. I made an appointment with Advantage Chevy of Bolingbrook to fix the suspension noises in the front and rear and told them what Firestone found. I took my car to Advantage for the appointment. Doug Steen called to report that noise was the front driver side sway bar link. I went to pick it up, but wanted to make sure the noises were gone, so I went for a test drive with a tech and the noises were still there, just driving around their parking lot. I reported to Doug that the noises were still there. I asked Doug about the driver side rear shock that Firestone reported as leaking. He said they didn't see any leakage. I left the car with them for further testing. The tech couldn't find anything else wrong. I picked up the car and could still here the noises between work and home. I called GM Customer Care and spoke to Karina and opened a Service Request. Karina spoke to Advantage and made an appointment for me. I drop the car off and Doug said that GM Customer Care can’t make appointments, and he couldn't get me in for a day or two. I left the car there. Doug called to have me come in for a drive with the tech. I made a map of the areas around the dealership where the noises were being made. They said that two of the noises were “normal” for a car with 71,000 miles, but that the steering shaft was clunking. They agreed to replace it and I told them they could have it for a week, as I was going out of town. I pick the car up the day I got back in town and still hearing the clunking noise in the rear, as one of the original complaints. I took the car back to Firestone and asked them to look at it again, and to let me get pictures of the leak. I stopped by Advantage with the pictures and Spoke to Doug (not much with Doug) as my issues are not being handled by Service Manager, Mark Burback. Mark said that he’s not just replacing parts, because of clunking noises. I told him I had photo proof of the leak/seepage. I showed him the pictures and he asks Doug to look up if the rear shocks are a covered part under the GMPP Major Guard. They say there not covered and Mark asked Doug to give me a print out that says, “Both rear shocks” “NOT covered”. I had my laptop on me and connected to Wi-Fi looked on the GMPP website and shocks are covered. So I go back to Mark’s office and show him. I also said the reason it says, “NOT covered” is because now, 4 weeks has gone by, and my GMPP is expired. I said look up any part that is usually covered under my GMPP, and it will say not covered. Mark comes back out of his office to Doug’s by Doug’s desk and he says that he’s not just going to keep replacing parts on my car. I said, I’m only asking for one of original issues that I came in with (leaking shock) to be replaced. I asked why doesn't he want to fix my car? It seems like warranty work is easy money. He said that the steering shaft that they replaced, he paid for. That he had to pay the $100 deductible again, since the original ticket was closed. Now I see where this is going. Since the ticket is closed again, he doesn't want to pay the $100 deductible. I don’t think that’s my problem, since one of my issues was a leaking rear shock. Seeing that I wasn't leaving with the stuff he was feeding me, he then said pull your car in out of frustration. Mark and his tech were looking at it and I walked over and said, so it’s leaking right. He said no. It’s normal seepage. I said then lets look at the other (passenger) side shock. There was not a drop of oil on the other shock. No signs of it leaking. I asked Mark if he even knew how shocks worked and he said yes, That there’s always a little oil that leaks out. Then I said that the passengers side shock must be broke then, because there’s no oil seeping from it. I said he didn't know what the xxxx he was talking about. At that point he said that I was to leave the property or he was going to call the cops and that I wasn't to come back. He told Doug that it GM Customer Care calls about my car… that all calls are to go to him. More

Finding quality car service is extremely hard - especially when you just have to trust that what you are being told is the real problem. We have found that at Advantage Chevrolet of Bolingbrook th especially when you just have to trust that what you are being told is the real problem. We have found that at Advantage Chevrolet of Bolingbrook they respect the customer, the vehicle, and most importantly your checkbook! Everything was explained in detail and all problems were resolved the FIRST TIME. They were extremely polite and helped in any way that they could to find us alternative trasportation since the repair would take a while to complete. We have bounced around from many other dealerships and this is the first time that we are overly pleased. Rarely do we leave a dealership with a smile....Advantage Chevy accomplished that. More
