I recently purchased a Genesis G70 from Checkered Flag. Originally I had dismissed this car based on the belief it couldn’t compete with its German counterparts. On a whim one Sunday several weeks ago after finding the Audi dealer closed, I decided to test drive a Genesis. I was met by Martene Hogan a salesperson at Checkered Flag. The first good sign was I was not forced to schedule a test drive and come back. I’ve been in complex sales for over 30 years and know this is a sales tactic designed to increase my level of commitment. I test drove the car and loved it. Over the course of several more weeks I continued to shop. The typical BS - pushy salespeople, simple and intellectually insulting tactics sprinkled with some bold faced lies. Checkered Flag does not negotiate prices. They offered a fair price with a fair discount. Not the very best price I was given but competitive. Martene won my business. While deciding on what color, trim level, etc I was looking for she professionally and accurately answered all of my questions without ever pressuring me to hurry up and buy. During that time, I had visited another local Genesis dealership where the experience was just the opposite- all they did was pressure me. Once I decided to move forward, Martene worked diligently to locate the exact car I wanted since they did not have it in stock. I was concerned about the vehicle being transported, so she went so far as to personally pick up the vehicle and drive it back. Most of the paperwork was done by the time I arrived to the dealership so that I wasn’t spending hours just waiting around. As someone who has worked in sales for many years, I cannot emphasize how much I appreciate that Martene never acted like a “pushy car salesperson.” She genuinely cared about finding the right vehicle with everything I wanted and ensuring I was satisfied with every aspect of the process. She still answers her phone any time I have questions. If you need a new car, this is the person you want to work with. I have bought a half dozen new cars and this was by far the best experience I’ve had. Martene worked hard for me, was honest, personable with a very funny dry sense of humor, treated me with respect and seemed to really care about doing her job well. My impression is that Checkered Flags model makes it really easy for customers and for the salesperson to be at ease during a stressful time. I strongly recommend Checkered Flag and Martene. More

Martene found another Kona for us and the purchasing experience was great. She has a great personality and is not the stereotypical car salesperson.
