Be careful buying a used car from Smithtown VW. When I went for a test drive in the used 2025 Chrysler pacifica with the used car salesman we both noticed a shimmy in the front end. The salesman said the tires needed to be balanced it was a simple fix. I really liked the car so I went along with the sales pitch. When we got back to the lot I complained that one of the front tires was worn on one side so they reluctantly agreed to replace it to make the sale. I told them to replace both front tires instead of one and 1 would pay for the second front tire. I picked the car up a few days later and I took it on a long drive a week later. To my surprise the car still had a front end shimmy with the 2 new front tires especially over 50mph and the steering wheel would vibrate. I contacted the salesman about the problem and got a run around for a few days about bringing it back for service. I got tired of waiting so I brought the car to Mavis tire in East Northport to have the front tires balanced on my own dime. Mavis pulled the front wheels and discovered that both front wheels were bent and one rear tire had a nail in it. The Mavis tech said he couldn't balance the tires with bent wheels and said to return the car to the dealer for repairs. They couldn't believe the dealer would release a car with that much damage. I finally was able to bring the car back to the dealer to check out the problem. The service manager said that the car didn't have these problems when it was delivered, which was an out right lie. I sent them pictures from Mavis of old duct tape that was placed on the inside of the wheel to try and hide the bent wheels. Smithtown VW service charges $250 per hour for expert service and they didn't notice the bent wheels when they installed and balanced the 2 new front tires that's hard to believe. The service dept agreed to repair/recondition 1 of the 2 bent wheels but wouldn't replace the nail damaged rear tire so I agreed to buy a new tire and balancing for over $400 dollars. My bad Experience with Smithtown VW sales & service started when I picked up the car they only gave me 1 keypad instead of 2, it cost me $375.00 to buy a second after market keypad. They delivered the car with 2 bent wheels, damaged tires and front end issues that still exist. The car still has a little shimmy after buying new tires and repairing 1 bent wheel plus I get wheel and tire noise at highway speeds. Since the car is still under the Chrysler manufactures 3 year 36,000 mile warrantee I'll bring it to Chrysler to get the front end inspected and wheel bearings checked out. I'll never buy another car from this dishonest dealer again. More

On August 06, 2026 my mother and I purchased a Volkswagen Atlas Crosssport 2026 from Smithtown Volkswagen with a sticker price of $53,388.00. After going over paperwork we noticed an additional "o Volkswagen Atlas Crosssport 2026 from Smithtown Volkswagen with a sticker price of $53,388.00. After going over paperwork we noticed an additional "other" charge of $3,400 Tow Buster for 3 years. A charge we never were told about, nor agreed to. After reading the fine print we saw we are able to Request a cancellation on this, especially on a charge we did not agree to knowing the new car already comes with a complimentary roadside assistance. Once we reached out to the finance department they avoided us, hung up, and would not return numerous calls. Finally my Mom received an email from Tom Catapano, the finance manager. The contract Tom sends us in email is a FORGED contract with changed numbers. Different sticker price- Changed to $60,339.38, different numbers, deleted numbers and eSigned signatures we both did not do. We have our original copies of the window sticker, prices, and mishaps they did on their behalf. Signed in PEN by the both of us, also him. Nothing was eSigned!!! DONT GO HERE! More

If you included a “ZERO” Star rating, I would have checked that box because this dealer is fraudulent.1 month and a half ago they charged $600 for a leaking valve cover gasket. Now they found a cracked/leaking valve cover and just the part is $780, They didn’t think to review our service records 1st. Do you think we wouldn’t remember this? That valve cover had to be damaged by their own mechanic and It should have been covered under warranty but was not offered! They are looking to rip a customer off! They lost a 16 year customer due to their recently “under new management” crew. More
