My wife and I had been researching Subarus, had decided what model and options we were wanting, called Elk Grove Subaru, and they had the specific car. We had been to two other dealers, in each instance i what model and options we were wanting, called Elk Grove Subaru, and they had the specific car. We had been to two other dealers, in each instance interacting with very surly salespeople who treated us as objects rather than persons. We had done internet research to identify best prices for the model. In very direct contrast to our experience at other dealerships, everyone at Elk Grove Subaru was friendly, considerate, professional and customer-oriented. At every point in the interactions we felt respected and affirmed. Mike Carlson was especially helpful. And Mike Lagandaon in Finance was exceptional. We have bought many cars over the years, the most recent ones being in hassle-free situations because of the upfront research we've done and our understanding of the sales and pricing process. But this buying process at Elk Grove Subaru stands out above all the others for the real consideration we were given. We got the exact model we wanted, at the price we had determined based on internet research and local comparisons, and we got 0% financing! The biggest surprise was that we had expected a maximum of 36 months 0% financing, and we emerged with 48 months! I received several "guaranteed" quotes on several Outbacks from Edmonds.com. I had looked at several sites to determine what I would like in an Outback vs what I could afford. Mike Carlson of Elk Grove Suburu was the first to contact me of several dealers regarding the quoted prices. From the beginning Mike seemed to care about what I wanted in a new car. we had several back and forth with email and phone at the same time I was getting calls and email from other dealerships. Mikes contacts were always friendly with no pressure. The car I wanted based on color was sold the day before I was to see Mike personally. He called me up the the bad news and I decided to come into the shop anyway to see what else might be available. We met talked walked around and he showed me that I could afford a better version for the same price should I decide to wait for the car delivery in a few weeks. Again no pressure just facts. A quick phone call to confer with my wife and we decided to by the car. Clean simple no hassel. We got more than we wanted and a brand new car to boot, all because of Mike Carlson. I drove 97 miles away and back, twice, to get my new, 6-speed manual, BRZ Limited at Elk Grove Subaru rather than any of the Subaru dealerships in the SF Bay Area. Mike Carlson is just better than any o 6-speed manual, BRZ Limited at Elk Grove Subaru rather than any of the Subaru dealerships in the SF Bay Area. Mike Carlson is just better than any other Subaru dealer I spoke to. I knew I wanted the BRZ for a long time, but had a lot of trouble getting what I needed from the Subaru dealers in the SF Bay area. I had to go out of my way until I found someone who could give me a straight-forward, fair price and the package I was looking for. This was Mike Carlson in Internet Sales. He responded to my email very quickly and answered all of my questions directly and with exactly the information I had requested. I asked if he'd order a specific color and package for me, he said he would. I needed to know how much I should expect to pay, so I asked him: how much will it cost, out-the-door? Mike responded with a number. I hadn't had any luck with these questions talking to other dealers, usually once I asked about price they would stop responding all together. Mike earned my business with his honesty and integrity. I made my first trip out to the dealership to order my BRZ, arranged for my order, and came home knowing it could be several months before I would see my car. Mike told me exactly what I could expect, he never tried to downplay the details just to make a sale; he was direct and honest. Mike kept up regular email communication with me: always using my preferred method of communication, to give me updates and new details. A few months later he told me my new BRZ was expected in and that I would be able to pick it up, so I drove my last 100 miles in my old Forester to Elk Grove. The purchase process went smoothly and I was off in my new car. Mike and the folks at Elk Grove Subaru made this entire process quite simple and pleasant. I would recommend that anyone shopping for a Subaru in the SF Bay Area shop with Mike, for a modern experience that challenges your expectations about buying a car.
