We recently tried to purchase a certified-pre-owned 2021 Kia Seltos SX from this dealership, and it turned out to be one of the most dishonest dealership experiences imaginable. From the start, I made it very clear to the sales associate that we were only interested in buying a certified pre-owned vehicle. The car we were shown was advertised online as certified for $18,600 and even had a large "Certified Pre-Owned" sticker on the windshield. My daughter was excited - this was meant to be her first car purchase following a serious auto accident where her car was totaled. But when it came time to go over the numbers, the dealership added more than $5,200 in hidden fees, raising the total price to $25,213. After arguing with management, they dropped it to $22,959 "out the door." We left and said we would think about it. The next day we reluctantly agreed, thinking at least we were still purchasing a certified Kia. When reviewing the warranty paperwork, I noticed it did not match what comes with a certified Kia (10 years/100,000 miles). Only after I repeatedly pressed for answers did a finance manager finally admit that the car was not certified at the online price. In other words, had I not caught the discrepancy, they would have sold us the vehicle as "certified" when it was not. This is blatant false advertising and bait-and-switch scheme. They knowingly showed us a vehicle marked certified, advertised it as certified, and agreed to sell it as certified - then quietly tried to strip that away unless we paid more. On top of that, managers were aggressive, unprofessional and even refused to give us copies of the paperwork we had already signed. When I asked to speak with the general manager, I was told "he doesn't come out." To make matters even worse, after all of this, we received an email from management stating they would certify the car at the agreed upon price only if we removed the review that had been posted and that once that was done, they would "finalize the return" of our license plate, which they still had in their possession. This is nothing short of coercion and completely unacceptable behavior from any business, let along a car dealership. After our first day's experience, I read through their many one-star reviews and told myself it couldn't possibly be that bad. I decided to give them a second chance, but everything I read in those reviews came true, and then some. The sales associates we dealt with were professional and kind, but the dealership's management is deceitful, dishonest, and predatory. My daughter's very first car buying experience was defined by lies, manipulation, and intimidation. I strongly warn anyone considering doing business here: review the one-star reviews first. They are accurate, and our experience confirmed it. This dealership cannot be trusted. More

My experience with Kia of Port Charlotte was awful. The car I bought was in horrible condition—dirty, with a torn seatbelt that they refused to cover. The price jumped from $19k to $22k with hidden fees and added warranties I never agreed to. My salesman, Christian, gave me little to no information about the car, rushed me through paperwork, and refused to tell me the final price until after I signed—saying it was “for him to worry about.” When I returned to complain about the seatbelt, they blamed me for not coming back sooner, even though I had to get to work to pay for the car. They promised to “get me a good deal” but instead shoved a higher price on me. They sold me a car that wouldn’t pass safety inspection, falsely claimed it was certified pre-owned, and never disclosed that it was a previous rental. When I asked, the salesman shrugged his shoulders. This dealership was deceptive, unprofessional, and only cared about making a sale. I will never buy from Kia of Port Charlotte again. More

Salesman was deceitful and pressured us to not pay cash and finance thru Kia. Then to top it off he took my wife’s phone from her hand and filled out the survey on himself and dealership and gave himself p and finance thru Kia.
