Just leased our first Toyota. THE best car buying experience of my LIFE ! Walked in after 7pm on a Wednesday night to begin car shopping. It was going to be the first stop in succe THE best car buying experience of my LIFE ! Walked in after 7pm on a Wednesday night to begin car shopping. It was going to be the first stop in succession of stops over the next several days/weeks at many dealers of all makes. We walked in with a deal we wanted on a car we needed and they did it for us, BETTER ! The car was nicer than we were aiming for and the financial option they proposed was a better deal than we walked in with. When I walked in I was ready to be abused with phoniness, insincerity, and persuasiveness . Instead we got CHRIS SMITH ! I know his name "sounds" fake but HE IS NOT. He greeted us as we walked in , took our proposal, sat down with us, made a few notes, confered with his manager STEVE and came back with a YES and proceeded to explain the details and answer every question. Then, Steve asked if we might be interested in an alternate deal that he thought might appeal to us. They worked out the details for us to review and dang, it was a better deal for us. Every person we met Chris, Steve, Rob treated us with respect. Every single step was surprisingly painless and unexpected. I walked in expecting to do battle and even warned my wife to expect it. Instead, after 9pm the car was prepped,warmed up, gassed up, and we were driving home a new car. If you are shopping for a Toyota, go here and ask for CHRIS SMITH. You won't be disappointed. And I know why...... He's a hockey player. More

When Rob Halderson introduced himself and welcomed us to Oak Lawn Toyota, he was extremely helpful, warm and friendly. Rob went above and beyond to answer all of our questions and made us feel comfortable about buying our first Corolla. He was very thorough when walking us through all the nice features on our new car. Thanks to Steve Hertogs, we were able to get the color I wanted through another dealership. We couldn't be more pleased and the price was excellent. Usually they say when you have a bad experience, you tell everyone. When you have a good experience, you tell no one. That will not be the case however, because we can't stop talking about the excellent salesman Rob Halderson, the awesome Sales Manager, Steve Hertogs and Jason Stroit in the finance department. We have done a complete turnaround on how we view auto sales people. Steve Hertogs, Lou Rodriguez, and Marty Maggio were super friendly. We were treated like human beings. In the past 3 months we were in numerous dealerships and by far Oaklawn Toyota was by the most outstanding place to buy a car. We ran into some very negative sales people on the way to finding the great people at Oaklawn Toyota. We read previous reviews and decided it would be worth the drive of 50 miles to go to Oaklawn to make the purchase. We were very glad we did. #1 our car was inside the building away from the elements, #2 our chosen options (roof rack, door edge guards, and side guards) were done and on the car. #3 The price we were told days earlier was the price we paid. I purchased a 2014 FJ Cruiser on 12/14/2013 and was pleased with my sales rep Frank, his manager Steve and Dave in finance. Dave gave me a great rate without insulting me on the first round. Before that Steve took the number Frank and I worked up and instead of playing games agreed to the reasonable number. I have purchased 30 new cars over the years and this is the first time the dealer did not come across like a used car sales lot. Even the guy that detailed my car took his time and seemed to care. I asked that no bumper sticker be added to the car and it was not. I asked to have the window sticker removed with out damage and it was. I asked that no front plate be messed with as I live in Indiana and it was not. I asked that the temp license not touch my rear window heating elements and they listened. Yep, they did me right and were professional. NOTE: Of all the folks on downstream trying to get you business using the Consumer Report tools Oak Lawn was the only one that responded to my specific questions on inventory. ALL the others failed and wasted my time. More
