Quick Lane at Tenvoorde is not quick by any standards. They claim they walk-in only, but Tim informed me they do take appointments for the bigger jobs, which explains why their service gets so backed up. They claim they walk-in only, but Tim informed me they do take appointments for the bigger jobs, which explains why their service gets so backed up. The reason for my poor rating for Tenvoorde is due to an accumulation of events and the long wait times I have experienced I have experienced. First, I need to tell you that I only own one Ford vehicle. Otherwise, I have always taken all my other vehicles to Gilleland Chevrolet for service. The difference in my experience between the two services is night and day. After several different vehicles and years of numerous visits to Gilleland, I have never had a problem. In contrast, I have had several problems with Tenvoorde, just servicing my Fusion. There was a serious issue with the wheel alignment a few years ago that was most egregious. The reason being it made the car unsafe to drive on icy roads. It is my wife’s car that she drives to the Twin Cities for work. She had to report to me that the problem had not been fixed, and I would take it back to Tenvoorde. This went on over several months, and several times back in the Quick Lane during the winter months when the roads were snowy/icy. Each time I was at Quick Lane, it took several hours for the repair. I also worked a day job making this very inconvenient. I finally made an appointment with the regular service department to have them look at it. During the appointment, I was informed that a representative from the wheel alignment rack manufacturer had discovered a malfunction in the alignment rack, which required parts replacement. They performed a new alignment, and that finally corrected the problem. By this time, I had spent many hours in the waiting room at Quick Lane while they repeatedly misaligned my vehicle and then scratched their heads as to why it continued to be off. Another disappointment is that nobody from the Tenvoorde service department bothered to notify me regarding the situation. They should have immediately notified everyone who they had performed misalignments on. Prior to the alignment issue, I had the Fusion in Tenvoorde’s regular service department because there was a background noise problem when using a cell phone in the car. The service writer at the time insisted that the problem was not caused by the car, but by our cell phones, which involved three different cell phones and two different service providers. This was obviously ridiculous for him to say. He said there was nothing more they could do and sent me on my way. I then took the car over to Miller Lincoln service department, where the problem was solved immediately. The noise was caused by the air conditioning vents blowing air at the car's microphone. I did report that situation to Ford Motor companies’ complaint department, and to my surprise, I received a refund check from Tenvoorde for that screwup. Anyway, I reluctantly continue to go to Tenvoorde's service departments because they are the only Ford dealership in the immediate area. Dave Rausch More
