I wanted to buy a car from East Hartford Chevy , Tyler was the salesman . they asked for a deposit of $500 I gave it to them A guy named Gil started pushing papers in from of me , about 10 or 12 pages .I was the salesman . they asked for a deposit of $500 I gave it to them A guy named Gil started pushing papers in from of me , about 10 or 12 pages .I told them sale is contingent on getting $20,000 from Fidelity they said OK .Fidelity messed up and sent the money to an off shore account , yes I got the money back in about 4 days . East Hartford kept my $500 deposit .I still wanted the car . As of Sept 3 2026 the same car has been on Carguru for 176 days and not sold. Don't give a deposit until your 100% ready to buy a car . Your better off going elsewhere to buy a car or truck . I finally did buy a Tahoe from another dealer with 62,000 miles for about the same money More
