The first of many promises broken. I was given the run-around by the incompetent service department, who has no one particular in charge or helping. The service manager was laughing at my distress. Very poor service Had my 2006 mustang in for service in June 2017 ,engine light and rinch light we're both on . Larry in service said they but it on 5 different machines and said no problems ,they turn them off and then the next day they turn on again ,took it in again,they did it again,the same thing is still happening in February 2018, went back again got charged 150.00 it still is happening,was told this time to drive it they can't fix it,was told they don't know what was wrong was definitely taken by this dealership. Expected to hopefully get my Raptor fixed the same day and leave the Mustang, since I live four hours away. To my surprise Phil arranged to have different tech's look at both vehicles as soon as I arrived. Left with both vehicles fixed CORRECTLY the same day! It was a very pleasant surprise to get both vehicle fixed in one day by a very professional service team. They were worth the drive. I highly recommend Long McArthur's service! More
Bought a new F-350 King Ranch less than 3-years ago. With less than 3000 miles on it the power steering was really loud. 4:50 pm they wouldn't look at it. We are the proud owners of a new 2016 Lincoln MKX Black Label. I want to personally thank Long McArthur and Darrin Lee for helping my family out with 5 star service. We had our brand new vehicle break down on the side of the road about 20 miles from Garden City, KS. My wife and kids were traveling to visit friends and family and I was out of town in Nebraska for work. My wife had to have our vehicle towed into Garden City at night with two kids and we were very upset. We thought with a brand new Lincoln and only 5,000 miles this should never happen. It wasn't anything major but it had a recall. We contacted Long McArthur Ford the next morning and without one question asked Darrin Lee had already arranged drivers from Salina, KS to come all the way to Garden City, KS to drop off a car to my wife and kids. He then arranged our car to fixed under warranty and even had our car shipped to Salina for a final inspection. They then drove our vehicle to our home in Wichita, KS and picked up their loaner car. Thank you very much Darrin Lee. You and Long McArthur are 5 star people and I won't think twice about doing business with you again! I appreciate everything Long McArthur Ford! Not up to my expectations but they made it right We live in Hays (90+ miles away). I have been a loyal customer to Long McArthur ever since we bought my car from them in 2011. I had full service sche We live in Hays (90+ miles away). I have been a loyal customer to Long McArthur ever since we bought my car from them in 2011. I had full service scheduled for June 30, 2014, along with installation of some aftermarket parts, including a hood scoop, which they said they had done before. (My husband had suggested that I take it to Xibit Customs in Hays for the aftermarket stuff but I went against his wishes.) So, here's what happened. As my car was being transferred from service to the body shop, I noticed an awful squeaking sound. (They had just put on new wheels and caliper covers.) I was later told that the covers were rubbing on the rotors but should eventually grind themselves down, so I let it go. After everything was supposedly done and my car was back outside, I noticed that it had not been washed as I had requested. I told them and they got it washed. I also saw that the hood scoop was not flush against the hood as it was gapping on both sides. Thinking that nothing could be done about it, I left with about 50% overall satisfaction. One week and 300+ miles later, I took it to Xibit Customs. They removed the caliper covers, made some minor adjustments and got rid of the squeaking. I asked them about the hood scoop and they said that they could in fact remove it, replace the adhesive and add 2 more screws to eliminate the gaps. They made it look just as it should have the first time around. Several days later, I sent an email to Eric in the body shop in pursuit of compensation for the $110 scoop re-mount. He told me that they had used everything provided in the kit and if additional screws were needed then that is up to the customer as they can not install screws that aren't already there. I can not believe that a certified Ford body shop couldn't acquire 2 extra screws to help properly mount a hood scoop specifically designed for my 2011 Mustang!! Apparently, Long Mac did not really care about my satisfaction with their work, since nobody even took the time to discuss it with me before I left. (And I seriously doubt that it would have done any good to go back in and complain about it before leaving.) What my husband had to say: "I told you so." "Live and learn." "We'll just have to eat it now." :-( UPDATE: As of 8/14/2014, I am very pleased to announce that my issues with Long McArthur have been resolved. They were very apologetic about my experience and also very eager to make things right. They sent me a check for compensation for my extra expenses to have the job done right and even offered to fill my car with gas the next time I am in Salina. In fact, they encouraged me to just stop by. It is nice to know that these guys truly do care about their customers and want them to be nothing less than happy when they drive off their lot. However, I would like to take this opportunity to encourage Long McArthur employees to take the time to communicate more with their customers, both before AND after their work is done. More
We had brought our Ford Ranger in for repairs because it was running very rough. They saw that some lines were leaking, so they ran diagnostic tests, and decided that certain things needed to be completed, was running very rough. They saw that some lines were leaking, so they ran diagnostic tests, and decided that certain things needed to be completed, which they did (which involved bringing in an extended warranty company rep from Wichita to get permission for the repairs).. Unfortunately, their diagnostics were not done properly or completely, because the truck still ran poorly right after leaving their lot. The truck was brought back, and all that they found, supposedly after running another diagnostic, was that the spark plugs were dirty and the fuel system needed to be drained. They specifically stated that there were no mechanical problems, just maintenance issues. When they told us it would cost close to $600 for the service and maintenance, after we had just paid close over $400 for the previous repairs that they had done, we hesitated and decided not to have the work done there. I took the truck to another dealer closer to our home, and they just had to look under the hood and remove some covers to realize that something was seriously wrong. Of course the extended warranty company required another computer diagnostic before they would approve any work, and so we had to pay for another diagnosis AND to pay for a separate deductible. Our new dealer did the required diagnostic and discovered that the gasket and values had needed to be replaced. IF Long-McArthur had done their diagnostics correctly in the first place, we wouldn't have had to pay extra deductibles and extra diagnostic charges. More
Brought my car in three times for the same problem and it never got fixed, then they wouldn't take my car in anymore, even though I still had an issue.
