Total Life Savers! Model Service Department. Not enough laudations for the Service Department. Visiting from St. Louis. Pulling out of a mall at 4:00 pm on a Saturday the "Check Charge Service" Not enough laudations for the Service Department. Visiting from St. Louis. Pulling out of a mall at 4:00 pm on a Saturday the "Check Charge Service" light comes on my TL dashboard. We drove to a nearby Acura dealership. I walked in and explained, family in tow. The dealership's management staff basically shrugged and directed us to an auto parts store down the road. Replaced the battery and warnings were still on. That night I went On Line and found an Acura chat site. An empathetic presence that proved very helpful. Shortly after the chat I received a call from Larry Jones, the service manager at Columbus Acura (in Dublin, OH). Just his call was reassuring on a Saturday night. It was clear we could not drive home to St. Louis the next day as planned. Larry and I texted back and forth on Sunday and he directed me to bring our TL to the Service Department first thing Monday morning. We packed our car and got to the dealership at 6:45 am. At 7:15 am Chris Diglia welcomed us to his desk. He was fully briefed about our situation prior to our arrival and led us to the waiting area. A receptionist (I forgot her name - very nice) set us up with coffee and we ate our breakfast in the waiting area. In 45 minutes Chris presented us with a multi-point check report and informed us that our alternator was not functioning. He gave us the quote and a 90 minute length of time needed to replace our faulty alternator. Our car was received at 7:15 am for an expedited repair and we were on the road back to St. Louis at 9:24 am! EVERY member of the staff that dealt with us were attentive, welcoming and comforting. The entire company exuded professionalism and confidence. If we lived in Columbus we would purchase a car from Columbus Acura if for no other reason than the service department and the positive vibe elicited by the staff. Additionally, as we occupied the waiting area, we witnessed other clients being treated with the same attention, respect, transparency and professionalism as my wife and I. To us this appears to be the norm. Thank you Columbus Acura for reminding us that there are businesses that do welcome the stranger. Among the good family memories associated with our trip, you will be mentioned as another positive experience in Columbus, Ohio. More
Dirty, Old & Expensive for Luxury Level Service Besides the fact that the building is old, dirty, outdated & nothing like a “luxury” brand of other OEM’s feels like, it a joke that the dealership of Besides the fact that the building is old, dirty, outdated & nothing like a “luxury” brand of other OEM’s feels like, it a joke that the dealership offers their sales patrons free oil changes considering they nickel and dime you for every service they provide. I was charged over $200 for less than an hours work to change differential fluid, lubricate brake calipers, and rotate my tires...and that was with a FREE oil change. while I appreciate the certification of an official Acura Inspection, I can’t believe their menu pricing is so atrocious given the amount of work that they can do while the car is already raised and things are accessible (and a little girl like me can do on my own for free). Originally I thought when I was quoted $117 for the tire rotation & oil change that it didn’t include the discount for the oil change removal, so I was rather surprised at over $200. I will take responsibility for my misunderstanding, but knowing how easy and fast it is to do these specific things that were included in my service, I never would have agreed to have them done for that price. This service center will be getting no more of my business other than providing my free oil changes and warranty service and o my becasue I don’t feel like driving over to their competition that is so much more of a professional atmosphere. AND they got oil on my door panel that appears to have stained my grey leather. Also, went into the sales showroom and was not greeted by anyone for 20 minutes, despite the fact that I was looking at highest end vehicles and potentially interested in the new RDX. Overall, it was the worst experience I have ever had at a dealership. More
They don't waste your time! I shopped around for tires and Acura of Columbus was surprisingly competitive. The person i spoke with offered to provide a loaner vehicle as soon as i mentioned scheduling around my work hours. When i got there i just dropped off the car with a valet person, walked in the first door and in less than 5 minutes i was walking out with a (free of charge) 2018 Acura loaner key and got to work at my normal time. Jami was awesome. Picking up was equally seamless... just drove the loaner to the valet, walked in, paid the bill and one of their people brought the (just washed) car to the door for me to jump in and drive off. Don't think I've ever had to spend so little time waiting and messing with administrative stuff as i did with this visit. Easily worth the extra $50-100 over what the bargain tire shops were going to charge! More
Quick oil chanage I took my 2017 RDX in for its second oil change. I scheduled the appointment for 8am, the first appointment of the day. My car was ready in about 30 minutes with a free car wash. Todd went over the results of the inspection in a professional manner and I was on my way. About as painless as service can be. Everyone there is friendly and efficient. The waiting area is spacious with seating near a TV or away from the TV whichever you prefer. Coffee and other drinks are provided along with some snacks. More
