First of all, I have never wrote a bad review in my life and I am a Senior citizen. I saw a vehicle on Cars.com that I was excited about because we were looking for used Acura MDX. GThis car was located at and I am a Senior citizen. I saw a vehicle on Cars.com that I was excited about because we were looking for used Acura MDX. GThis car was located at the Acura of Pembroke Pines dealership in Flordia. It had low miles, around 10,000, and it was not certified according to Cars.com. This MDX seemed to be everything we wanted. No need for the extra cost of certification with so much warranty left. So we contacted the dealership right away and spoke with Curtis Kennelly. When we started to speak numbers we were told we needed to negotiate with Sales Manager “Sam Nelson”. When Sam Nelson emailed the contract we were surprised to see a certificate of warranty that included an extra $2300. We were told the certification was mandatory and the vehicle could not be sold without it. Some may call that false advertising, I certainly would! Sam Nelson, the Sales Manager, would not take it off the contract. After seeing our dissatisfaction, he did lower the price by $1395 to pacify us. We really did not want the increased price of the certification. Sam left it on the contract. Then came the matter of getting the vehicle. We are not located in Florida so, we asked how much to ship to Charlotte NC where we have family. Sam Nelson said that it would about $800. We agreed to that amount. The final contract was sent via email listing a $799 pre delivery fee on top of the agreed upon $800 charge for delivery. However, AFTER we signed the contract we were informed that pre delivery fee was “Dealer money”. I asked the question is this a Casino or a Dealership, there was also a random $299 charge we were told was “Dealer money”. Therefore, that $1,100 in “dealer money” for no real reason! When I asked for an explanation Sam said, “I could have charged you $1,200” just for pre delivery and lowered it to $799. At this point I felt swindled and asked to just cancel the deal, but was told “no, you have signed the contract.” This reminds me of the Government trying to pass a bill and then you saying you can read the bill after. We are car enthusiasts and have purchased many, many cars at dealerships; probably at least a hundred! I have never in all my days dealt with such a deceitful sales manager as SAM NELSON! The other salesman, Curtis Kennelly, did a great job under the deceptive circumstances. “Sam Nelson” grade F- “Curtis Kennelly” A+ Please i advise you to think twice before doing business with the Pembroke Pine’s Acura dealership and definitely steer clear of Sam Nelson!
