The sales associate, Isabelle T, was helping us out. I told her that I was in the market for a luxury 5-seater SUV and that I was considering the BMW X3/4, Benz GLC, and the Audi Q5 series. This week, we had already tried out the GLC and BMW at the MotorWerks showroom in Hoffman and Barrington respectively (and both experiences were terrific by the way!). So, we decided to check out the 2019 Q5 Prestige. Isabelle then pulls the car into the service area, and we check out the car. I then told her that "let's go for a test drive." To which she answers, "When you decide the buy the car, you can test drive the vehicle." Seriously!!! She continued to imply that I was not serious about buying because I was also considering Benz and BMW. So, in her world, I cannot test drive the car because I told her I was also considering the other players in the market. Basically, I'm supposed to decide to buy a $50K-60K car without EVEN test driving the vehicle!!! Is this the way Audi sales associates are supposed to operate? I clearly expressed my frustration to her, and I wanted to chat with her sales manager, Dan (I think). He was not around so we just walked out. Such arrogance! Buying a luxury car is also about the experience that the customer experiences in the dealership. At both the Benz and BWM showrooms, the associates were so cordial and relaxed going. In the BMW showroom, we, in fact, test drove both the X3 and X4, and after the test drive, we decided to consider the X4 over the X3. That is sales!
