I live in Sarasota but have purchased my vehicles elsewhere. Unfortunately, Sarasota BMW is the most convenient. Uniformly, I have found the service department incompetent. It has never, ever been elsewhere. Unfortunately, Sarasota BMW is the most convenient. Uniformly, I have found the service department incompetent. It has never, ever been able to fix my cars’ problem in the first attempt. Sometimes it has never, ever been able to fix the problem at all. I have been to BMW service departments in several states, and Sarasota BMW is the only one that doesn’t offer a BMW loaner and the only one that doesn’t routinely wash my car before it is returned. I'm not his buddy from the bar, and I expected professionalism. But the saga continues. Derek managed to secure a courtesy loaner for me, which I appreciated. I paid a refundable $50 deposit. Generous, right? Wrong. I return the car, tank brimming with gas, assuming I'd get my money back. Weeks later, a $32 charge appears. My inquiry to Derek? Met with silence. Not just unimpressed – I'm astounded. A relationship built on trust and respect? Shattered. My advice? Tread carefully, or you might find yourself stuck in the Derek zone.
