We are visiting Sarasota and realized that it was time for an oil change. I called and scheduled an appointment. Scheduling was easy. I dropped our car off at the appointment time and talked to my service for an oil change. I called and scheduled an appointment. Scheduling was easy. She was very welcoming, took my information and explained the procedure for getting info via text from my mechanic. Overall a great experience with Kim taking care of all of my concerns. The service was great-drop off and pick up not so great. I have been using BMW of Sarasota ever since I bought a used 328d in 2015. They usually do a fine job. I do not understand why, since they have this high-tech system that identifies me before I get out of my car in the service entrance, I have to manually write my name address and phone number on a sheet of paper. Can't they print this? When I got the call that said my car was ready (an important service not all dealers do) I got a ride to the service dept. I had paid online-a great convenience- and was told that they would bring my car right up. Well, after about 8 minutes I asked where my car was and was told they would call for it this time (as opposed to texting). I walked across the street to look at the Lambos, hung around, and finally after about another 8 minutes they drove my car up. Because the driver got right out and left the motor running, I did not get to see the normal start-up display to make certain the "needs service" notice had been reset. It was not until I got home that I remembered to check and sure enough, the technician had not fully reset the reminder. Is I had to drive back and have them reset it-a five second process. My service advisor Greg Jones, did me a great service to call me and say that there was a special deal on oil changes. That saved me a lot of money. When I dropped off the car I wrote that I wanted "no work performed other that an oil change". That is what they did, but I also received a wonderful video from the service technician showing the underside and engine compartment of my car and pointing out the status of the tires, shocks, and brakes. This was really a nice service and would be very helpful to those folks who only have a basic understanding of their car. More
