Today's car buying experience is far from exhilarating. I looked at the same category of vehicle with several different brands-midsize SUV with 3rd row seat. Bianchi did the best job of presenting the vehicle and making it possible to attain the vehicle, trim level and color that we desired. There were some brands that you would put your name on a list and wait until vehicles arrived. You either choose to have whatever showed up, or continued to wait-you could not order a vehicle. With Honda, you were able to order the car you desired and the car arrived in the time frame they had indicated-9 weeks. Our salesman was pleasant and returned inquiries very quickly. Our disappointment was after the car arrived. We were informed that it had arrived and that we needed to schedule a closing/pick up appointment. They had sent pictures of our new vehicle as well. The car did not include the numerous accessories that were line items listed on the "order contract". When we inquired, we were then told that a separate deposit needed to be made to order the accessories and that they needed to be paid in full before they would be installed. This was never mentioned prior. We had made a deposit when we "contracted" for the vehicle. This issue was resolved, accessories ordered, installed and a pickup scheduled. During the week prior to the pickup, we spoke with the salesman and the finance person several times including the day before closing. At the closing, we were signing the different paperwork and then it came to the financial papers. The number owed after the credit for the trade was not the same as discussed just the day before-much to the financial person's surprise. As it turns out, the accessories had increased in price by several hundred dollars. We had signed a paper at the time of ordering the vehicle that indicated that there may be a difference the final price if there was an increase in the "car", we drove too many miles or damaged the trade-in car. However, we thought that meant the "vehicle", again, accessories were not mentioned. At no point-when we were asked to make a deposit on the accessories or the several other calls during that week, including the day before- were we told of the increase in price. Apparently, our salesman was advised of the change by the parts department and had made note on the "workpaper", but failed to inform us nor the financial person, only the office staff that typed up the financial papers. We fortunately were in a position to absorb the cost and did not want the hassle of going through the car buying experience again. However, there are many people that would not have been able to absorb that kind of surprise increase and would be left in a very awkward position. The financial person acknowledged it was entirely their fault for the lack of communication, but because of the signed paper allowing increase, they did not have to write off the expense on their end. They gave us 1 free oil change in exchange for the "miscommunication." Also forgotten at the closing was the paint stick that had been discussed. It then had to be ordered and an additional trip to the dealership had to be made. Our salesman did help us set up phone connection and garage door connection, as well as went over basic buttons. Since our last Bianchi car ownership (we have owned 3 from Bianchi-2 are still on the road with our adult children), they moved the location of the car wash, so we did not know it still existed. It was not until the trip to pick up the paint stick that another salesman mentioned it. Also not reviewed was the maintenance schedule. While there are dashboard reminders of those things, it would be nice to know when to anticipate that. More
