Bill Utter Jr. was 14 when he started working at Bill Utter Ford. With his new driver's license, Bill began delivering parts for the family dealership. Bill and Virginia Utter opened the doors to their new Ford dealership in 1956 in downtown Denton. It was the beginning of a family tradition of offering the best Ford products and services to North Texas families.
In the early days, they were simply concerned with making ends meet from day to day and treating each customer with courtesy and respect, as they would any friend. Call 2days ahead for 60k service and For a wash and vacuum. Day of arrival had to ask again didn’t know who I was or that I’d called ahead. I watched him write it down. At PU no wash or vacuum. Broke parts on my truck and asked me to pay for them I tried to change my own spark plugs. I realized it was going to be difficult when I couldn't do it and I actually damaged a clip when trying to do th I tried to change my own spark plugs.
