I have a Dodge Ram with low milage. After this happening repeatedly, I took the truck to a dodge dealer in Temecula who diagnosed the problem as a CAM sensor and replaced it. After that repair, the truck ran wonderfully… for another five months. After that five months, I was down in San Diego (where I work) and on my way back, my truck started doing the same thing it had been doing months before, but this time it was on the freeway, in the fast lane and instead of just shutting down, it took away my power steering. Talk about SCARY. Naturally, I was completely petrified about driving the truck all the way back to Temecula so I took the truck to Carl Burger. I had taken it there after I bought it for small repairs and oil changes and never had any complaints so I figured I would be able to drive my truck home in a couple days. Boy, I could not have been more wrong. Since I had JUST dealt with this same problem, I believed the new problem was like the old or at least related. I told the service advisor of the problem, what I had done recently to fix it and all the problems I was having with it recently, and left it in their hands to figure it out. During that day I waited and waited for a response from them. Hours went by as I was sitting, waiting at a friends house for the result and I didn't hear anything. I finally was done waiting so I called and was told that I had a problem with my battery and battery terminals along with needing a fuel injection service and that would hopefully fix the problem. This sounded like complete hog-wash to me and I know VERY little about cars. Even if the battery needed to be replaced, the truck still ran and started and fuel injection service is routine maintenance. At this point, I started to get frustrated. It was clear to me that the truck had a problem that was bigger than the battery and these people were trying to sell me routine maintenance and were GUESSING that would fix this problem. Shouldn't they KNOW?? So, I told them to go ahead and replace the battery and I caught a ride over to the dealer where I was handed my key, a $300 bill and drove off the lot to go home to the 24 horses who were hungry and waiting for my return and as soon as I drove off the lot, the truck broke down… How wonderful is that?? I turned the car around and brought it right back and as my luck would have it, they were closed. Luckily, I have absolutely great friends who let me borrow a car so I could get back home and leave my truck with Carl Burger to have a second swing at ACTUALLY fixing the problem this time. Fast forward TWO weeks later and they still had not found out what was wrong. After first telling me it was the computer, then a bunch of other countless guesses, it seemed they had given up on trying to find the problem. They had told me they test driven it multiple times (which they clearly had not done the first visit, making progress) and it had not shut down. I talked with them extensively about the high possibility of the problem being a short in the electrical system (given the signs) and the service advisor assured me his techs had been over the entire electrical circuit and had not found a thing. I was irate they had tried to convince me the problem was the battery and now were telling me they were not able to fix the problem. After having a discussion with the service manager, who I had been in contact with the entire length of my trucks visit, he agreed to give me a partial refund and send me on my not-so-merry way. I was so discouraged and had no idea where to go next. I did not want to drive my truck in fear I would be stranded or I would die in a fiery crash when it would shut itself down on the freeway with no power steering (i'm a paramedic so i've seen such things.) Looking for advice, I walked into the shop where we have our ambulances worked on and talked to one of the mechanics there who I had come to form a good working relationship with over the years. I told him about my trials and tribulations and asked him if he knew of anywhere I could take it specializing in electrical problems since he is the go-to electrical guy for the ambulances. He told me he would be happy to look at the problem for me and if for some reason he could't fix it, he could recommend a place where I could get the problem repaired. I left the truck with him and in two hours, after printing out the electrical circuit for that year and model Dodge, he had found the problem. It was a frayed wire that sat tight up against the harness and ran back down into the engine. It was so tight that the corner of the engine had rubbed through the electrical coating and now was into the wires causing it to short when pressure was put on it. Then, in another hour, the problem was fixed. This man has NEVER worked on a Dodge before and figured out the problem in a hot second when the DEALER had the truck for WEEKS. How is this possible?? This is THEIR product, they are supposed to be EXPERTS!! How come they could or did not do exactly what he did?? Not only did they not fix the problem, but they sold me random parts I did not need. I believe that is called fraud. The whole experience was absolutely unbelievable. To add a little more to the story, remember my wonderful friends I mentioned earlier? Well they had been looking to replace their old Jeep with a brand new one and had been to Carl Burger multiple times to 1. Do repairs on their old Jeep and 2. Shop for a new one. After hearing about the absolutely abysmal service I received there, they decided they would not give Carl Burger another penny of their money. So, they took their pocketbook to another Dodge dealer in the area and purchased themselves a brand new 2014 Limited Grand Cherokee. Because of their lack of customer service, Carl Burger has lost two customers and the sale of a brand new car. So in review, this is a horrible business and I would never recommend this to anyone. If I could give them ZERO stars if I had the option. More

Turned in that vehicle and bought a 2014 1500- took it home , they forgot to activate the Nav so I have to go back again. The credit guy tried to sell me the extended warranty at double the price I paid on the first vehicle. He didn't remember Me from 8 months ago; I reminded him and he reluctantly sold me the extended but conveniently didn't tell me till the last minute I had a refund from the extended warranty on the last vehicle- and I found it odd that while they had the numbers of the actual pay off for the jeep because I financed through them, they kept asking me what pay off was. I looked up my payoff when I got home , I over quoted them so they have to pay less paying it off and I'm sure I won't see that refund. The staff is friendly More
