As far as the car buying experience itself, it was a great experience. My problem is with the service. Every time I try to get my car in to be serviced it takes a month or month and a half to get it in great experience. My problem is with the service. Every time I try to get my car in to be serviced it takes a month or month and a half to get it in the shop. Now the navigation system Isn’t working as well as most of the blue link and they told me that I need a new radio I had it in there on December 28 and they were suppose to order a radio and I called to find out why it’s taken so long today and no radio was ever ordered Just not a good experience with the service department at all. The service advisors name is Seth and I’ve called him numerous times to see what’s going on and he’s never in the office or he just doesn’t return my phone calls when I leave a message as I said just now had a good experience with the service department. More

I need help…We purchased a 2022 GV70 from Checkered Flag Genesis, Virginia Beach, VA on April 25, 2022. The same week when my husband washed the vehicle he noticed 4 spots that looked as if the clear coat h Genesis, Virginia Beach, VA on April 25, 2022. The same week when my husband washed the vehicle he noticed 4 spots that looked as if the clear coat had been rubbed off. He called the dealer and they said, “we didn’t do it, but bring it over so we can see it.” He drove the hour back to Virginia Beach and they scheduled the vehicle to be fixed on May 25th. He took it back on May 25th. They said they were able to ”buff it out”. They still have this vehicle and when he called today, no one knew anything about it and the person who was handling the repair was no longer there. We have a registration and title, but no vehicle to match either! SERIOUSLY, this has become very frustrating. Can someone HELP? UPDATE: Yet another day with them not calling or doing anything to get our vehicle back to us!! This is now 15 days to “buff” 4 factory defects out of the paint. Ashley, manager of service said she would call us today when she had arrangements made to get us our vehicle. NO CALL FROM ASHLEY!! General Manager was in his office, knew I was asking for him and wouldn’t answer the phone…hmmm…Wonder how good it’s gonna look having an old lady picketing the dealership? UPDATE: Ashley Hunt, Service Manager, said she would call this morning (6/9/22) to tell be when they would be bringing the car back. Naturally, 9:30 a.m. as I sit home waiting for her call, she hasn't called...nor will she answer the phone. I will continue to update this fiasco...Please save yourself my frustrations and buy elsewhere...they don't care once they have your money. More
I had to return my 2022 GV70 to the dealership to have a paint correction done on four spots which apparently had been compounded, by someone, in an effort to remove four problem areas in the paint. Last Monday, 5 days after taking the car in, Rene from the service dept. called to say the car would be brought to me Tues. and the loaner picked up. I waited all day. NO call, NO email, NO returned vehicle. I called Wednesday and spoke with Rene. He had to send the car back to the repair shop to do further correction. He would call me to let me know the status. Today, Friday two days later and still NO call, email, contact in any way. This is for 4 spots in the paint. NOT for parts. Not for frame damage or body damage. 4 spots in the paint. I am having serious problems with understanding. Is there someone at this dealership that cares enough about their customers to please explain WHY it should take 14 days to buff out 4 spots in the paint? Has the dealership damaged the vehicle to the point where they are sure I will be seriously concerned with what should have been a VERY easy correction? The question remains because no one will call and inform. How does a dealership remain in business with this total lack of concern for customer service? More
Avoid this business at all costs. I brought my vehicle to Checkered Flag Hyundai weeks ago to fix a very minor issue regarding a molding on a newer Sonata where the plastic was scr I brought my vehicle to Checkered Flag Hyundai weeks ago to fix a very minor issue regarding a molding on a newer Sonata where the plastic was scratched and barely punctured -- from far away you can't even tell there was damage. Checkered Flag provided a service appointment (Jessica, the service advisor) the next day, and when the vehicle was worked on it was discovered the part was actually wrong – but they had already torn off the molding and broken the piece in the process. Jessica promised to order the correct part and call us back – but never followed through. A week later, I call their parts department and discover the part was in fact ordered and had arrived a day or two ago – yet nobody had called us to set an appointment. I speak with the service manager (Ashley) and I am told the part needs to be painted and that it will get done the following week. A week goes by, no word from anyone or any status updates. I call and email Ashley, no response. I call and email Bryan Lane (General Manager, same guy who responds to most of these reviews on Google) to discuss the problem and find resolution. No response. That very day we receive a text message from the dealership at 9PM EST to set an appointment in the future because, guess what, the part has not yet been painted and they just aren’t sure on the timeline. The follow up is a clear confusion on where we are in the process and what the next step is. It’s been almost a month. So I’ve had to drive around with a molding missing on my car for several weeks now with still no idea on when Checkered Flag Hyundai intends to fix the problem. I could have at least had my slightly damaged part put back on in the meantime and taken the vehicle to a different shop that knows what they’re doing. Unprofessional barely scratches the surface on how to define this place. More
After having two other shops diagnose my vehicle with no success, I took my car to Checkered Flag Hyundai. Of course they told me the problem is something I've already done and they want to replace that par success, I took my car to Checkered Flag Hyundai. Of course they told me the problem is something I've already done and they want to replace that part yet again. So they did and it did not correct the problem. Then they try it again charged me and sent me on my way and the next day they exact same problem persisted, they did not fix my vehicle but they did take my money!! Now they have me on the back burner with NO loaner for the last 3 weeks so they could repair my car correctly without me losing my job...This place is incompetent!! More
Bought my first Hyundai Accent in 2009 from checkered flag and really loved that little car. My cousin Billy Daniels was the credit manager at that time so that was the reason for my choosing them. When I went there in May 2019 Marten Hogan went above and beyond to take care of me, best customer service ever. She treated me like I was her mother. Love my car and checkered flag. Mario in the service department is amazing and I always ask for him when I need service on my vehicle. I recommend Martene and checkered flag to anyone when they are car shopping. Best car buying experience ever!!! Employees at service desk also helpful and great customer service! More

When I walked up to a service representative I was blown off and told someone would see me. 15 minutes later getting ready to walk out someone finally came to see me. After I left I decided to call back and ask to have something taken care of on my car and the phone was answered by the same person that blew me off earlier. This service department is disgraceful and unprofessional and does nothing to help the hard work of the sales department. More

I made an appointment to have my car serviced first thing Tuesday morning, and did a Monday night drop off. I called multiple times Tuesday morning to follow up and was assured that my car was being serviced. At 1pm, I received a call saying that my car had not yet been looked at and that I had a new service representative who would take care of me. Later that evening, I was told that the parts for my car's repair would arrive Wednesday and that it would be completed Thursday. The parts didn't arrive on Wednesday, but instead of keeping me apprised of my car's status, it took me calling multiple times Thursday evening to find out that the parts wouldn't arrive until Friday. On Saturday, they told me my car repair was complete and that it was available for pickup. When I picked up my car, they again assured me that the repairs were complete, but the next day the airbag light was on again signifying the issue had not been resolved. I dropped my car off again on a Thursday, and called to find out the status on Friday. They told me they would call me back shortly. They did not call me back until the following Wednesday. The issue with my car has still not been fixed, and I spoke with a manager about the less than professional service I received. He assured me that he would bring my concerns up with their general manager and that the general manager would give me a call. No surprise that it has now been a week since I was told the general manager would call me, and I still have not heard from him. I would not recommend the service department of Checkered Flag Hyundai World. Not only was my time disrespected, but I was not treated as a valued customer. The lack of follow up is a major and consistent concern, and I would strongly recommend not bringing your car here for any service issue that cannot be completed in one visit. More
