The most case was in April 2016, when we bought a 2016 Subaru Forester 2.5i Premium. We began considering anew car purchase 2 years earlier, when we initially made contact with our sales rep. We were unsure whether to buy a new or used Subaru. The rep explained the plusses and minuses of each approach. We mulled the issue back and forth, and I'd see the new Subarus during my infrequent service visits with the 1996 vehicle. The rep called us perhaps once during this process--just right, in our view. Finally, when we ready to make a decision, we met with him, test-drove two models (Forester and CrossTrek), and confirmed that we wanted to purchase a Forester. The sales rep explained a currently available special sales price, and, after discussion, agreed to include one or two minor accessories.. There was no haggling, no "I've got to the talk with my manager" disappearances. The deal was fair and straightforward. Ditto with the trade-in. The car was delivered on time and with excellent instruction in the features of the Forester that were new to us (primarily bluetooth connection).
