Hi there everyone going to share my experience here at Colonial Honda of Dartmouth. I am a young man in search of my first car to finance. I ended up stumbling upon a used red 2011 EX-L Honda Acc Colonial Honda of Dartmouth. I am a young man in search of my first car to finance. I ended up stumbling upon a used red 2011 EX-L Honda Accord Coupe with 88000 miles on it. Well it was a Saturday morning and I arrived to test drive the car which is always a fun experience. Upon returning I sat down to negotiate a fair price. The first thing the sales rep does when I sit down is show me all the work that has been done to the car to “improve” it (aka get it to be in decent shape) and a carfax showing no major accidents. I think to myself okay cool this shows the car is in what one would consider “good” shape not very good or excellent the car is almost 10 years old with 90k miles on it. So they had a ridiculous/stupid listing price online of 11991 which was about 2000-2500 over value of the car on KBB and CarGurus. So I offered 9500(the low end spectrum of the cars actual value) initially. The sales rep explains “oh I think that’s why he showed you the work done to it” referring to his manager. That would be like me saying “I’ve spent 500 dollars on Uber this year to get to work, so I’m gonna take that off the price of the car” At this moment my sleezeball used car salesman alarm was going off. The sales rep then comes back to me and I quickly send him back to the manager with a 10000 offer (on the high end spectrum of what the cars valued). The manager himself comes over to me and tries to defend the rip off of a price. He even starts name dropping people at the credit union I work for like it’s even relevant to my situation. He then tells me that only for me he’ll drop the price to 11491. Gee so you’ll only rip me off 1500 instead of 2000 thanks pal. I decline because luckily I did my homework. He then asks if I’m interested in any other car, but at this point all trust is lost and I decline and leave. Moral of the story : I highly recommend avoiding this place at all cost. If you must purchase here please for your own good come prepared and stick to your guns. They will try to trick you and rip you off. They are absolutely sales over service focused. Hope I can save some people from getting ripped off from these guys. Thanks - Cy More
