Finally, she made me feel it would be worth while to make the hour commute to the showroom for an appraisal. I came in, unsatisfied with my previous dealer I have been working with for the past four years. Phil understood my concerns and worked diligently to ensure I was taken care of. Went back and forth for a few days on email about flying in to purchase a car then driving it home. It started out with hopes they could ship the vehicle but that was a no go which is fine. We got to talkin in to purchase a car then driving it home. It started out with hopes they could ship the vehicle but that was a no go which is fine. We got to talking and I was told if I put down a $1000 deposit they’d hold the car for us since we were going to have to fly from Omaha to Chicago to get the vehicle. I filled out the credit app Thursday night at 5:30 pm. I received an email and call at about 9:30 am Friday. I was told what our APR would be. I replied explaining it would work and we’d put the $1000 down to hold the car. I explained we’d have to get a flight and since my wife is a co-signer we’d have to wait till the next week to fly out. It’s also difficult at 2 pm to find a flight early for the next morning that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. They replied with “oh no, we can’t hold it till next week, we assumed you’d fly out in the morning tomorrow to get it”. Say whaaaaaaaa??? So somehow the $1000 deposit is only good for a few hours. Somehow me giving them $1000 isn’t enough of a “I promise to come get it”. They must make a lot more than I do because $1000 isn’t a small amount to me. Crazy they couldn’t hold it a few days. At this point I’m extremely glad it didn’t work out. More
