Scam Fees Beware This was my 2nd used car I bought from Academy, the first one was in 2015 and had a pleasant experience with Gary? Fair price, no surprise fees, easy This was my 2nd used car I bought from Academy, the first one was in 2015 and had a pleasant experience with Gary? Fair price, no surprise fees, easy to work with so I went back when my son needed a car. He found a used Civic for a fair price but I let my guard down and did not discuss total price and got banged for over $1000 in "fees", which was every scam in the book. Nitrogen in the tires, window etching, outrageous clerical fees...I should have walked out, but after 3hrs in the dealership I felt too invested time wise. After all this they sold me a car with one key, no back up and refused to produce another one, telling me I could spend $100 with their guy to make another key. This review will probably be censored since Academy wants your money but I'm going to tell my friends and write reviews where this dealership can't censor. Stay away! More

He is honest, pleasant, thoughtful, helpful and a panoply of additional laudatory adjectives. He personifies the opposite of what most of us think of as what a car salesman is. In 50 years of buying cars in central NJ, Mercedes, BMW, Acura, Toyota, Isuzu, Nissan, Chrysler, and Honda, he was the one salesman who did his job in the manner I would expect a true professional and a gentleman to do.
