Out of state car buy made easy Happened to be in St. Louis and found 2015 VW Golf TDI with 2k miles online. Wow, it is what I had been looking for, but couldn't find in Texas: a use Happened to be in St. Louis and found 2015 VW Golf TDI with 2k miles online. Wow, it is what I had been looking for, but couldn't find in Texas: a used 2015 Golf TDI. I was on a short timeline to see the car and get back to the airport. Carl Schaeffer was quick to return my call, find the car, and answer questions over the phone. It was at a specialty shop having a repair done prior to sale. He arranged for me to run by to see that car while in a test drive of the same model new car. The car was priced fairly online, so it made final price and delivery negotiations quick and easy. In about 30 minutes, I had an agreement and put down a deposit. We did everything else by phone, email and overnight delivery. Carl answered questions, walked me through the process and calmed my nerves about buying a car out of state. In about two weeks, the car delivered to my driveway in Texas. There was one minor issue with the car upon delivery, but Carl and the dealership took care of that very quickly.They even expedited delivery of title transfer paperwork to ensure I had plenty of time to get it registered from out of state into TX. Overall, it was an easy and good experience. More
