I came in for a transmission fluid change on my Odyssey—the staff member I spoke to initially said it would be over $400, claiming that my Odyssey's model year made the service more expensive. I explained that I had the 10-speed transmission and that it had cost under $200 the last time. She then acknowledged that if it was the 10-speed, the price should indeed be lower and similar to what I had previously paid. However, when I picked up the car, I saw a price sheet (attached) listing the transmission fluid change at $139. Since I have an Odyssey Touring with the 10-speed transmission, the 9-speed and CVT prices don’t apply. The service advisor told me that the $139 did not include the cost of the transmission fluid, which he said was very expensive. He also implied I should be happy that the total was “only” $280, suggesting it could have been more. When I pointed out that it had been significantly less in the past, he responded that it must have been a one-time deal and couldn’t be matched. The entire experience felt like a series of excuses, and frankly, I left feeling scammed. Pricing a transmission fluid change without including the actual fluid is misleading. My family has purchased eight vehicles from Dover Honda over the years, and we've relied on your service department many times. I believed Dover Honda was more trustworthy and helpful than my local dealer. This appointment left me questioning that belief. I emailed the Service Manager (Michael Segien) on July 31st. about my experience but received radio silence after 9 days. In my opinion, I'd stay away from this place if possible. More
