This is frankly a brief recounting of the poor communication I've received from the dealership. In the month since I purchased the car: (1) it took over a week to deliver it to me, despite being promised that the car would be ready for several days in a row and requiring me to take off work or leave work early; (2) once I finally received the car, I drove it for approximately 200 miles before the transmission failed while I was driving on the highway; (3) when I brought the car to the service department, I called everyday thereafter -- Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday -- to get an update on the status and whether repairs were being made, only to be told that the service manager was on lunch every time I called and that she would call me back, but she never did; (4) I had to go to the dealership on my day off (Saturday) in order to learn that the car's transmission needed to be replaced; (5) when I told a manager that I did not want the car because it was unsafe, I was advised that the car was "not worth" the price that I had paid for it because of the transmission problems, and that I would be responsible for the difference; (6) I was told that the sales manager would take care of the situation; (7) I received several follow-up calls the following Monday, but have not received any update on the status of the situation since then. It has been 1 month since I purchased the car, and it has literally been in my possession for only 9 days. When serious safety issues arose after driving the car only 200 miles, there should be no hesitation in addressing the issue. Completely unacceptable and you folks should all be embarrassed.
