We took our car in for a recall repair and at same time had them perform a repair to secure the catalytic converter which came loose and was rattling. Also we asked for a price on a new mirror that had been damaged when something bumped into it. The repair came loose a few months later and we took it to a mechanic who repaired it for about 1/4 of the price. As for their quote on the mirror, they quoted us for a mirror that was not even for our car because the quote included painting it and our car has just a black plastic covering that just needs to be attached to the car. Another recall came up which was actually the first one that was not done right and then the airbag one that a lot of cars are having. When our Honda had the recall, Honda came out and got my car, repaired the airbag and returned it a few hours later. They were courteous and great to work with. In contrast I spoke with Glen Today(or it could have been Len) I told him about our previous experience and how easy it was with Honda. He did even say..."Oh I am sorry to hear that" Apparently they do not care whether you are pleased with their service or not. Anyway they did say they could come get the car but could not say when. I told him I just needed one days notice to make sure the car was here. I would never buy another Subaru if this is the best they can do. More

I was greeted by friendly Bob who places the protective plastic seat cover and paper floor mat, and I didn’t have to wait long before Amy, the service advisor, checked me in. The service was completed in less than the estimated time and my car was returned to me clean after a free car wash. I highly recommend Gerald Subaru in Naperville without hesitation. More

Above and beyond customer service I usually don’t write reviews online; but in this case, the service was so above and beyond expectations that I felt I must share. Chuck Dziak is the Service Manager at Gerald Subaru of Naperville. I was having oil consumption issues and had been trying to get it taken care of all over the Midwest, as I constantly travel for work. I was getting discouraged until I talked with Chuck. He was extremely knowledgeable about the situation and the steps that needed to be taken to correct the issue. However, what I have been most impressed with is his willingness to work with me through the challenges of my work schedule. The problem solving and hard work that he put in to correct the issues has been the perfect example of impeccable customer service. I highly suggest this location to anyone in the Chicago area looking to either purchase or service a Subaru. It is absolutely worth a longer commute based on the service you get. More

I asked the service dept to treat this car as though their son / daughter was driving, After 81m miles I needed new breaks, oil change, fuel induction etc. They did everything on short notice and the work was done exactly as I had hoped. They even found a problem that a windshield repairman caused-sorry I doubted the veteran Subaru mechanic (Dave P.).! I am compelled to offer heartfelt gratitude for how they took care of my family. Every one of these service people have earned the right to be called Real Professionals. Take your car here and you will be treated well. When you get to know them after several visits you realize they are all car guys who also understand what parents worry about. Thank you Tom A., Dave D., Dave P. And Will ! P.S. Gerald Service on my vehicle has been terrible. The engine was ruined on my new Subaru from a routine oil change gone bad done by Gerald's Service Dept. They replaced the engine at no additional monetary cost, but we've had nothing but problems with it ever since. The installation of the replacement engine appears to have been outside the capabilities of the Gerald Service Dept. Even though I was happy when I bought the Subaru and for the first eight months I owned it, the last six months, with repeated visits to the dealer to fix a new car that they sold me, is not what I was hoping for when purchasing a new vehicle. After it is returned to me, I am hoping to sell it or trade it in so I don't have to worry about it anymore. The net effect will probably be me losing money on what I still owe on it, but I just want to be done with it. I can't count on the dealer in my home town for service. Too bad to because I was proud to be a Subaru owner but this experience has really soured me on the brand and on Gerald. More
