Hello Amelia. I checked with our sales team and you are correct, the extended warranty you purchased doesn't cover the alternator because it is a powertrain warranty which covers the lubricated parts of the engine and transmission. Sometimes alternators do go out and in some instances there is no way to predict when. Having spoken with our sales manager and service manager I have discovered that they have agreed, as you already know, to replace your alternator at no cost to you. It is in stock and awaiting for your arrival. Thank you for your business.
