BUYERS BEWARE!!! After searching for a car for my teen aged daughter. I thought I found one she was looking for at Honda World used cars. I had cash in hand ready to After searching for a car for my teen aged daughter. I thought I found one she was looking for at Honda World used cars. I had cash in hand ready to purchase this car. I drove to the dealership to test drive and purchase a 2008 Volvo S80 3.L TURBO. When I arrived I was told the vehicle has not been put on the lot to sell yet due to needing to be inspected. I was told by the VIP manager the vehicle is a nice looking car , however he was concerned it had some transmission issues. He said if I would like to see it , he would have one of his salesmen take me over to their lot on Watterson Trail where they perform their inspections. I told him I would like to look at it. When i arrived to look at it , I was told I could not test drive it due to the condition. The salesman told me they were waiting to have it inspected to even see if the dealership would keep it to sell. He stated that if it didn't meet their inspection they would be sending it to auction. After looking at the car , I told the salesman I am interested in the car for my daughter and to let me know if they don't send it to auction. He said he would let me know. I spoke with the salesman the following day and he stated the vehicle has too many issues and they would be sending it to auction, however if I really like the car? They would be willing to sell the car to me and repair all the issues . I was like can you tell me what issues it has and what kind of price are we talking? The salesman was like it needs a power steering pump, a water pump , a transmission seal and the door lock needs fixing. I'm like what price range after all these repairs and he stated close to $10,000 . I was like that is absolutely crazy for a 2008 Volvo that has issues. The salesman also told me I could purchase the car as is and take it somewhere to have it repaired, however I could not drive it off the lot that I would have to have it towed. I was like well I'm going to go home and talk to my husband about the car to see what he thinks. I talked with my husband over the weekend about the car and all the issues the vehicle has and he was like just forget the car. He was like it has too many issues and they are jacking up the price to have it fixed, which is way over book value for this car. So I decided to move on and continue to look for a different vehicle for our daughter. On Tuesday morning I received a text from Honda world that stated " Are you still interested in our 2008 Volvo and I replied and asked if any repairs have been made to the car? I received a text back stating the vacuum pump, water pump and transmission seal has all been replaced. I texted back and asked if the price is still the same ? I received a reply that stated I do not recall what it was listed at before , but it is currently listed at $6,352, which was the same price it was listed at before they said all these repairs were made. What really upsets me is that I wanted to purchase this vehicle for my daughter and I had cash in hand to purchase it . I was lied to and told the vehicle was in such bad shape that it was going to auction, unless I wanted to purchase it and have them fix it and jack up the price close to $10,000, Then to find out 3 days later all these repairs were made and the vehicle was on Honda worlds website for the same price with repairs made. This vehicle is still listed on Honda Worlds website . I feel like due to me being a female that I was being taken advantage of . The dealership thought I wanted this car so bad that I would fall for their lies and pay close to $10,000 for a 11 year old car. This Volvo is currently on Honda worlds lot / website, so buyers beware of what the salesmen will pull over you . I received a phone call from their customer service center to see how my shopping experience went? I explained how I was treated and the man I spoke with agreed that it sounded like I was being taken advantage of because I am a woman. He stated a manager / owner would be calling me to discuss what had happened. It's been over 1 week and I never received a phone call . I feel extremely humiliated and feel like they were trying to take advantage of me because I am a female.I had purchased 2 brand new Honda Odysseys in the past from this dealership when it was under the ownership of Sam SWOPE which was a very respectable establishment . This dealership has gone down hill since it is under new ownership . I would not recommend anyone purchasing a vehicle from this dealership, especially if you are a female, BUYERS BEWARE / LADIES/ FEMALES ! More
