Began a search for a 2022 Obsidian Blue Pearl Hone Passport in November. Was informed by another dealer that 2021 inventory (awaiting chips) would preclude 2022 models to arrive. I decided to learn Passport in November. Was informed by another dealer that 2021 inventory (awaiting chips) would preclude 2022 models to arrive. I decided to learn how to be patient as I did not want to purchase a year old model without any kind of 'deal'. I searched online once we returned from holidays with family and found 'my car' in Hickory NC and began discussion with that dealer. They did not seem anxious to provide 'drive out price'. Then I found Honda of Columbia - MIRACLE - you had my car! Danny was courteous, professional, thorough in delivering info. Calls back & forth as I already had pre-approval for financing - then we drove down - test drove the car and knew it was what we wanted. Great experience! Great team effort (then working with Matt for financing options). We received a fair offer for our 2010 Honda Civic and made the deal. We drove home to find our 7-month Lab puppy waking up and ready to go outside. A great end to a so-so year. We want to THANK Chris Burns, Preston Locklear, Adrian Nedelea, and Johnny Cannaday for an awesome experience purchasing our 2022 Odyssey. Long story, short- We had been experiencing issues with our 202 Nedelea, and Johnny Cannaday for an awesome experience purchasing our 2022 Odyssey. Long story, short- We had been experiencing issues with our 2020 Odyssey for a year. Chris and Preston have provided us with excellent service and have been there to listen to our concerns. They went above and beyond when we originally bought that van and through all issues. They could have blown us off, but they didn't. Their kindness, honesty, and hard work are second to none in this business. We decided to get out of our 2020 Odyssey, but in the current car part shortage, it took a while. Then Chris called with a van in stock and we LOVED it. Chris was true to his word on everything. I know he probably thinks I was crazy with all my questions, but he is the real deal. Chris was able to get everything lined up and hooked us up with Adrian in sales. Adrian has been the best salesperson we have ever worked with. We really wished we had worked with him in 2020, but hopefully, we can continue to come to him in the future. We can't say enough good things about Adrian. Thank you for an excellent experience. Then there is Johnny in finance. This guy is a hoot and really is the best. He has some great stories. We were so happy to have gotten to work with him again on our new Odyssey. Thank you again to everyone. Everyone has different dealership experiences and we have had different ones at different places and even different experiences at Honda of Cola. However, our experience through our issues on our van really taught us that this place is a great place to do business and that are truly honest and supportive people in the car business. Danny was good to deal with overall. The main thing that rubs me the wrong way is when I stated the payment we were working towards during the process, there was no mention of the extras that would be added rubs me the wrong way is when I stated the payment we were working towards during the process, there was no mention of the extras that would be added just before signing in the business office. Which drives the payment up even more, and above what we really wanted. Things like that shouldn’t be a surprise and needs to be disclosed during the process at the sales table so your customer knows exactly what to expect. Instead we get that one last sales pitch for the dealership to make money and isn’t very much appreciated. It would be. After to have the warranty extras on the table before going back to sign the deal. I learned a valuable lesson this time around and it won’t happen again. And I can’t say that I felt the gentleman who I signed papers with cared about anything other than getting that last extra add on sold. I don’t mind and can understand needing to make money, it would go a long way if it was went about differently and more professionally other than the typical car salesman way. So if Honda of Columbia wants to be different this is where I’d start. You’ll get more repeat business treating your customers like people rather than a dollar sign. More
