told him he could take the car back ( after we had it for over 24 hours), I would get my book out of the car, give him the other key and take a cab down to Ken Grody or call (continuation) it. I found out that since the computers there were still down he had to go across the street to a GM dealer to borrow their computer. He came back with the full disclosure sheet with the name of the GM dealer crossed out and this time the balance was $10,067, no teflon coating. The downside was since there was an erasure on the name we would have to return one more day to get the papers finished. We returned the next day to complete it. I called my sales rep Todd and he was apologetic and said he would give us 2 gas vouchers instead of one when we returned for our evaluation. He mentioned that this was not the first time Rich almost ruined a made deal, in fact he had gotten into shouting matches with Rich and some guys who think like him for ruining some of his deals. He said since Rich had nothing invested in the deal he didn't care and only looked out for himself. I've read that these guys get a cut out of whatever they can pad a contract with and if the deal falls through they don't lose anything. So there are good and bad people in almost all dealships. I have seen some posts here of Rich trying this same teflon tactic on others. Before going to final papers get it in writing from your salesman and his manager. Don't buy when you are under the gun to buy or don't let them know either. Be prepared to walk away, they may or may not call you out but with the current economy no one wants to lose a sale. The price I got was only a few hndred above what I would have paid if I got their loss leader ad car that President weekend and way better than any other Ford dealer's ad car. My daughter and niece love their Fusions and it gets great mileage plus the great safety rating. By the way HB Ford give free car washes on weekdays , you just might have a slight wait.

In response to my original review dated 3/17/09 we have been in contact with the General Manger at Huntington Beach Ford, Omar. Omar has really turned things around for us and made our experience highly desirable, so much we recommended my Mother in Law to drive down from Palm Springs to purchase her Ford there.. I will most definitely be returning to Huntington Beach Ford to make my next vehicle purchase. I highly definitely H.B for the excellent service they have given my family.. Thank you, Omar and the Huntington Beach Ford Family!!!

Continuation: He would round it off to an even number. When my wife asked why not $15,000 they both laughed good-naturedly nd Todd said they weren't making much on this and still owed Todd a commission. So we went ti see the backroom guy while Todd went over the controls and features of the car with my daughter(he did it again for us). the backroom guy was polite, he asked if we wanted Ford ESP, GAP , Lo-jack or put a down although that wasn't necessary as the rebates would suffice. We declined and afer a few minutes he showed us the contrac: It had the HB discounted price, lsited the rebates, tax, fees and license and came out to the agreed upon price of $15,200. It showed the Ford Finance rate (we did this to get that rebate) of 11.9% (later corrected by Ford to 11.5%) of 7 years or 4299 a month, the total cost of Finance and the no penalty for early payoff. He politely answered all my wife's questions regardiing any form she didn't understand. Todd told us the 1st full tank was on them, the first 3000 mile service was also free and , to my daughter's delight, free carwashes every weekday although there might be a wait. So we drove off with no money down and as soon as I got the registration and first payment notice from FMCC my credit Union took over and I pay $276 for 60 months. Now about their integrity. A few days after buying my wife was re-checking tthe contract. She found out that the $500 rebate for college students was not included, she is back in school and during the initial negotiations we were told she qualified. So a few days later she calls customer service and spoke to Briana. Briana said that there was such a rebate in effect at that time but for some reason there was no documentation of my wife's status in our file. But she said no problem. If my wife would drive down with some documents she would submit it for consideration although nothing was certain. My wife did that. We were told to check back in a week. When wedid Briana said it was approved but were waiting for FMCC to verify that the account was active. I told her I would call after my CU sent the payoff. I called the day after and they verified with FMCC. She then said the check would be cut and sent the following Tuesday, we got it Friday about 4 weeks after we took delivery. This was their fault, they forgot to include it in their original calculations and they could have said it wa already built in to their final price. Yet they made a successful effort to try to honor their commitment to give us ALL the rebates. So final price $14,700. Now I will rant vehemently as well as the next guy for poor service. but when I get this service I have to give xxxxxxwhen credit is due even if it may be an aberration. now I am dealing with them again. I wll update later.

That should be $299 a month not 4299!

One more correction ,The finance guy was Ryan not Tom, Tom was the name of a guy in the internet department. And I just completed another purchase of an 09 Fusion SE for my niece with a power of Atty from her dad in Iraq. ALMOST as effortless except for one incidence, nothing to do with the major players, some substitte closer trying to get a piece. More on that later when I have finalized the paperwork and picked up the car.

Later to find out Tony and Kaya are not working on Monday. We proceeded to the receptionist to make an appointment with Omar, she filled out a “while you were out,” phone message slip and my wife asked her to make a copy (see attached). Stacy, the receptionist suggested we talk to the desk manager, Alex Stoeber. I then explained the situation to Alex and let him know that if we could have the contract reflect the original deal we would be satisfied with our purchase and he assured us he would discuss both sides to Omar when he received a call from him and seemed sympathetic to our situation. The bottom line is that we were not told about the add ons by either the salesmen or the finance department. We feel that we were manipulated into signing a contract that stated the agreed upon payment amounts without being explained to that those payments in fact reflected additional charges we never agreed to. This experience has ultimately resulting in an additional $6000 out of our pocket and into someone else’s without our knowledge. We sent this paperwork to our attorney and he advised us to put a stop payment on our $1500. down payment check. Our attorney faxed this paperwork on Tuesday 9/16/08 followed by detailed letter addressed to Omar included multiple other complaints within this year alone regarding HB Ford on Wednesday 9/17/08. The next day, Omar contacted me and I met with him and he claimed the letter received from our attorney was the first time he had heard of any of this. I briefly explained what had happened and he proceeded to write a check to our loan in the amount of $4585.00 rebating the undisclosed Service Contract, GAP Insurance and Teflon coating. I received a copy of said check. My wife had called Omar and left a voice message explaining the unresolved issues later that same day. We have not heard back from Omar. We received a call from Rich in finance asking for a cashier’s check to replace the cancelled down payment ($1500.) plus a ($25) returned check fee. • These issues are yet resolved $1150.00 (purchase price discrepancy), $243.74 (tax difference)and $15.00 (stop payment fee) totaling $1408.74. Our attorney has advised us to pay the difference of $116.26 declaring final payment. Omar is now calling and threatening to send the HB Police to put me away for writing fradulent checks... I feel a class action suit coming on
