The way a car buying experience should be. Folks this is how you do it. This is what a car buying experience should be. Too often we hear about the horror tales of shopping for a new car. Going Folks this is how you do it. This is what a car buying experience should be. Too often we hear about the horror tales of shopping for a new car. Going to the dentist without using any Novocaine is the only thing people probably fear worse. After my wife and I settled on the kind of car we wanted, we visited two dealerships that were in close proximity to us. I also did endless amounts of research on the car including average prices, rebates available and many other elements we would need to consider when purchasing. Well I normally dread shopping for a new car because by default I am in defensive mode given the history and reputation that car salesman too often have. As they say knowledge is power. When I finally narrowed down the dealer I would work with in town I still wasn't convinced I was getting the best deal possible. I then went to Hyundai of St. Augustine's website and found an identical car I was looking at that had even more features. I submitted my email address and contact information and within minutes I was speaking with someone from the dealership. Everyone that I spoke with from the initial phone call with the general sales manager, to the internet sales manager and even the finance manager were all great experiences. And I don't say that lightly. I knew each one of them that I spoke with did not have an intent to rip me off or make the biggest profit they could. It was clear to me they wanted to make a very reasonable offer for me to gain my business. Don't get me wrong I'm not looking to buy a car and a dealership not make money. As a consumer it is our job to do the research on the particular kind of vehicle we're interested in and fully understand what is a reasonable amount to pay. Hyundai of St. Augustine was more of a partner than an opponent with this car buying experience. I simply cannot recommend them highly enough. In particular Shawn Hayes was clearly there to make sure that we not only had a great buying experience but established a relationship that we would continue throughout the time that we own this car. I will not hesitate for a second to recommend this dealership to anyone interested in buying. And frankly if somebody lives next door to another dealership I will tell them it is worth the drive to go to St. Augustine. These guys were willing to do most of the business through texting and the email exchanges and were even willing to bring the car and the final paperwork directly to me. They bent over backwards to make this a great experience. So yes I'll say it again this is how you do it. There was no pressure. No haggling. And as I drove away I simply had no regrets. Thank you Hyundai of St. Augustine for making this an enjoyable purchasing experience. I will look forward to coming back when we're ready for our next vehicle. More
