Though I was unable to purchase my new Hyundai Sonata from Hyundai of St Augustine because trying to find a car with a manual transmission is like trying to find Moby Dick I had a wonderful experiance at from Hyundai of St Augustine because trying to find a car with a manual transmission is like trying to find Moby Dick I had a wonderful experiance at this dealership. Paul was exteremely helpful, if I had a question and he didn't know the answer he did the research to get me the right answer instead of just guessing. I have never met a more patient sales person, he took me out to test drive all three trims that I was looking at and then repeated the whole process with my husband. I know he tried his best to find the perfect car that I was looking for. If the service department is anywhere near as helpful and friendly as the sales department taking care of my new Sonata will be a breeze. More

Josh Davis, the salesman, was upfront, honest, knowledgeable about the product and great to deal with on every level. He answered all of my questions thoroughly and I did not feel rushed to make a decision. The inventory on the lot was good, I found exactly what I was looking for and there were no hard sell tactics or pressure. The entire process was handled professionally. This is a great dealership with a great staff. I would definitely refer them to anyone in the market for a great new vehicle - and ask for Josh, he's great! More
Last week I was looking for a new or used Hyundai sonata 2011. I got online and filled out the information for a price quote on 2/2/2011. I recieved my price quote promptly to my email. Later that day I rec 2011. I got online and filled out the information for a price quote on 2/2/2011. I recieved my price quote promptly to my email. Later that day I received an email from FRANK Messina (Internet manager). The email was a generic message of how he saw I was interested and here to assist my buying needs. I then called Frank and talked with him about what I was looking for, he said he would check the lot and see what he had. He asked me to fill out a finance application online. I completed the finance application and then recived an email from WADE Wahy (GM) on 2/11/2011 . The email said frank was not in this morning but they got my finance application and FRANK would call me when he got in. Hours later I sent an email back to WADE stating I had still heard nothing from FRANK. I was then informed that he would call me. FRANK went over my finance application and asked if I had a trade in. I informed him I did and that I knew I would be upside down. He ran the numbers for my current vehicle and gave me a trade in value. Overall with the amount I was upside down it was obviously going to be to expensive as FRANK told me. Be advised he wouldn't actually give me WHAT the monthly payment would be. I then asked FRANK if he had any used 2011 sonatas he informed me he did but that it is IMPOSSIBLE to hide my negative equity in a used car. I was never at this point asked if I was going to put money down. FRANK asked me if my wife could co-sign I told him no that her credit score was lower than mine. He then repeatly kept asking me if I was sure. I finally gave in and had her go online and fill the paperwork out. Then once again I had to call FRANK back and see the status. FRANK told me that her score did not help me ( hmmmm isn't that what I said). FRANK then asked if I could find somebody to co-sign for me. I told him I might but at this point was very unsure about his ideas. FRANK also said he would look into a used 2011 sonata for me. I finally called him back again and told him I could not get a cosigner. FRANK then basically couldn't make a deal. When I asked him about the used car he started getting upset with me and telling me that the banks would rather see me in a 3 year old car, but that I COULDN'T PUT NEGATIVE EQUITY INTO A USED CAR. I told him I thought that was crazy people do it all the time. I then told FRANK that I would put 3000 down to help with the negative equity he quickly returned that I would have to put 5000 down. I told him that Hyundai of Orange Park said they could probably help me then. Here is where he started raising his voice he told me that they were the best dealership, that I could log on to some website and see how much better they were and that other dealers just say they can but never do. At this point I raised my voice and asked to talk to the GM, as I was still talking he put me on hold for a few then picked the phone up and said someone will call me and hung up on me. Later WADE (the GM) called me back and said he will look into a used car for me and get back to me later in the week he also explained that banks will only finance a certain amount (which is true to a point) but was able to get me off the phone with finace terminology that only they can understand. Now I have not heard back from anyone not even the GM. Great customer service guys!! To finalize I decided not to wait for WADE to call back. My buying rules were that I wanted no more than a $400 a month payment and that I would put 3000 down. As of Sunday at a different dealer I purchased a used 2011 Sonata with 32000 miles on it and in great condition. Here are my numbers, it took me 3 hours total, great customer service and monthly payment is $354 a month and I only put $2500 down. What a deal that couldn't be done right!!! More
I am a big internet user. I did a search for 2011 Hyundai Sonatas. I came across a bunch of dealer sites but St. Augustine came to my attention because they actually listed their cars online (inventory). The Sonatas. I came across a bunch of dealer sites but St. Augustine came to my attention because they actually listed their cars online (inventory). They have an easy to use website and I was able to search through the inventory. I requested a quote and Frank Messina responded quickly with a great upfront prices on a few trims I was interested in. This was the reason why my wife and I went with them. Frank was very helpful in answering our questions. He found the car we wanted and even opened our eyes to the SE navigation feature on the car. He showed use how to use all the features in the car and made sure we were satisfied. He made our car buying experience really easy. He took care of us. I highly recommend Hyundai of St. Augustine. Decided after buying a 1998 Tahoe in 2003 and driving it for the last 8 years that a 13 year old vehicle just wasn't going to cut it any longer (especially after replacing the fuel pump last Saturday for $6 for the last 8 years that a 13 year old vehicle just wasn't going to cut it any longer (especially after replacing the fuel pump last Saturday for $698! Got on the internet on Monday and started looking and Sedans in the mid 20K range and narrowed my choice down to Toyota Camry or Honda Accord....until I discovered the Hyundai Sonata. It beats the pants off both of the previous cars, so I had to drive one. I discovered that Hyundai of St. Augustine which is a 30 minute drive from me had the biggest Hyundai inventory in North Florida so although there were other dealers nearer to me, I took the drive with my 5 year old. I met up with Joey Cassata last night after scheduling a test drive on their website through live chat on Monday Night. Joey was in a word, awesome. He was not pushy, he listened (which is very important to me, he asked good questions and he new the answer to every question I asked about the Sonata. After sitting with him and Jimmy Feliciano the sale manager, they ran my credit and determined that I was about a 90% certainty to get a great 3.9% on the car (despite him saying that they could have locked me in at 8.2 right there and then. So they let me take the car home for the night and Joey called me at 10am this morning to say that I was approved for the lower APR and to come back this evening and sign the papers. I showed up tonight at 6.30 and he Joey took the car from me right away to have it detailed, we went in and signed the papers which were all in order and exactly what we had discussed in person and on the phone. The entire process last night including test drive took and hour and 30 minutes and then another 45 minutes today signing papers and going over the cars features etc. I have bought probably 7 or 8 cars in the last 18 years and this was BY FAR the best experience I have ever had. They got me the car I wanted, at an APR that was better than I thought I could qualify for and I never once felt like I was being pressured or hustled into anything. Thank You to Joey for being really good at his job and thank you to Jimmy for doing what he said he was pretty sure he could do, which was get me a great APR. I will send anyone I know to Hyundai of St. Augustine. Shane Sinnott More
