Good afternoon, David. Thank you for your feedback. I have done some extensive research on this situation, including talking to Ethan at GM Customer Care. He informed me that they (GM, not Jim Butler) were in error. He confirmed that GM DID NOT authorize the dealership charge GM to repair the rock chips on your vehicle. This is not something we have control over. In fact, we were in contact with GM multiple times, as well, to see if there was anything that could be worked out. We were not successful. We answer to GM, not the other way around. You were still charged for the rental vehicle because you were in the vehicle for those three days and there was not warranty work that would have covered the rental vehicle charges (the only other thing on the ticket was your oil change, which does not cover a rental). When I spoke with Ethan today, he apologized to me and the dealership and said that he would be having his supervisor reach out to you in the next 48 hours. While I understand your frustration, I do want to reiterate that having the rock chips covered under warranty by GM was not under our control. We were NOT dishonest with you. We hope that Ethan's supervisor is able to assist you. We would have if we could. I sincerely hope this additional information and clarification changes your opinion of us as a dealership, especially regarding our participation in the process.
