Wrong tire pressure, unnecessary brake fluid change I took my Acura RLX for B 1 3 maintenance to Jim Coleman Honda on 10/19/2019 (Saturday). Purvis Burke was the Service Lane manager. Dealer changed the I took my Acura RLX for B 1 3 maintenance to Jim Coleman Honda on 10/19/2019 (Saturday). Purvis Burke was the Service Lane manager. Dealer changed the transmission fluid (as indicated by B 1 3) and Purvis also suggest me changing break fluid which I agreed. This is a dealer which we have been taking our multiple Honda/Acura cars for service over the last 5-10 years, and they had my full trust till this service. I couldn't get the car on Saturday, and Sunday they were closed. I picked up the car on Monday morning. When I picked the car, doors were unlocked (nothing was missing) While driving the car, I checked the tire pressure screen and it was showing the following values for four tires: 41 and 45 for front, 39 and 41 for rear. I called Purvis while driving and asked if this is normal. He said it is most likely because car stayed idle for 2 days and pressure should read normal after I drive the car 10+ miles (correct pressure is much less than what they had). I asked him what if it stays like this. He said bring the car next day, and he will personally take care of it. I was somewhat scared that I had an imbalance in tire pressure and drove slower than usual. When I drove back home from work, tire pressures were similar. I got suspicious about Purvis and dealer in general (car door unlocked, tire pressure wrong, Purvis suggested wrong tire pressure will correct itself) and Googled if I needed break fluid change. Acura maintenance book specifically suggests break fluid should be changed every 3 years. I bought my car new 24 months ago. Next day (Tuesday 10/22) I went to the dealer, hoping that Purvis will take care of it personally as that is what he said over the phone. To my surprise he was not there because of scheduled wisdom tooth removal. I talked to Cliff Webb. I explained Cliff all these details, and told him that I am not happy for the following: - Tire pressure was off. This is a very basic thing to adjust that doesn't require a shop that charges $100 per hour. Unbalanced tire pressures may have caused a problem while driving - They left the car unlocked from Saturday to Monday morning - Purvis suggested an unnecessary break fluid change - Purvis claimed tire pressure is off because car sit idle for two days (wrong), and he said he will take care of this personally next day (although he has scheduled wisdom tooth removal) - I told Cliff I will escalate this issue. He said I will get a call from Purvis on 10/25 which didn't happen. I see a pattern of bad practice by Purvis and mechanics. It is unfortunate that I purchased a 4 year package on February 2018 (as Jim Coleman was a very reliable place for the last 5-10 years). I will not take my car to Jim Coleman again. More
